Need to remove slack in chain

My chain rests on my chain guard and I couldn't find a guide on how to either pull the back wheel backwards or pull the gear which the chain rests on, back. 

can anybody help? thank you.

If you have your owner's manual, it's explained quite well in the regular maintenance section. If you don't have an owners manual here is a link to the online version:
