K-Tech Razor-R Lite or something else?

Hi everyone,
 
 
 
I am thinking of upgrading the suspension of my MT-07 and the K-Tech Razor-R Lite at only 430 euros, price includes installation, sounds like a great deal.
 
I ride daily commuting to work and on weekends I enjoy riding a bit faster on corner roads outside the city.
I rarely have a passenger with me (almost never), so the hydraulic preload seems useless to me.  
A couple of questions if you have the time:
 
 
 
1) Has anyone got the K-Tech Razor-R Lite in his bike? Any reviews perhaps?
 
 
2) Do you think that the K-Tech Razor-R Lite will be enough for my riding needs, or the Razor-R is the way to see any real difference? I am on stock suspension and the bike it is 2 years old.
 
3) I am thinking of pairing it with K-Tech's springs + other fork oil for starters, or wait to have enough money to get the Bitubo JBH cartridges, or the K-Tech DDS ones.
 
Do you believe it will be a good combo with just the springs, or I won't see any difference and should wait to go straight for the cartridges?
 
4) @pattonme: You mentioned in the original post of your Thread :  "In response to customer feedback and internal product improvement efforts, K-Tech has upgraded the preload rings to the ones pictured below and also now includes 2 adjustment spanners."
I cannot see any photos, can you re-upload them perhaps? What should we expect to see?
I was a bit concerned with what I read in another forum, regarding the maxed out preload adjustment.. I guess I shouldn't be worried?
 
5) Is there any other better budget option really? The closest one is the Bitubo XZE11, which I can find at 540 euros installed. The Ohlins is 600 euros installed, and the Nitron 580.
 
6) If I get the K-Tech Razor-R Lite could I later install the external reservoir and upgrade it in a K-Tech Razor-R?

Based on what you said as far as your riding style , without any knowledge on those shocks you mentioned. I can say with a fair bit of certainty that ANY aftermarket shock in your price range (Ktech lite, or the Bitubo) will definitely increase the stability and driveablity of your bike.

If get new springs for your weight whenever you do the rear shock tho, you may find that's all your bike needed.

Hi Babisstinson, i was wondering where you have found the K-Tech for €430? Cheapest i can find 'm in Europe is €420 delivered without installing!

@surferboy Installation doesn't cost much (probably free..), so the 420 euros is a really good price. Servicing the front forks and changing springs/cartridges, that is time-consuming and therefore costly.

@surferboy Installation doesn't cost much (probably free..), so the 420 euros is a really good price. Servicing the front forks and changing springs/cartridges, that is time-consuming and therefore costly.

I ask the same as surferboy, where did you get it for 430 Euros? Send a private message if you don't want to publicly say it :)

Fixed a couple of the photo links. (apparently Dropbox changed and broke all previous URLs!) The Street/Lite will be quite sufficient for commuting. The kerfuffle over on the fj09 board was due to an improperly built shock.

Hi pattonme, thank you for your reply. In case I get the Lite, would it be possible later to get the external reservoir, rebuild the shock and add compression adjustment as well?

You could do that I guess. But you'd have to send it in to be re-manufactured. I doubt they'd actually recycle your shock. You're better off selling the Lite and buying the full flavor edition. If you're keeping the bike for 3 years, just stump for the higher spec model to begin with, if that's where your interests lie.

I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on the Lite. I like that it has adjustable ride height.

even better (depending on your needs) the 'Race' version of the shock comes another 15mm (?) longer. So you can get some of the benefit of the AP Motoarts linkage. The linkage is the best option for the stated use, no doubt. But if you're looking to keep costs down...

Thanks for the info pattonme (what's your name btw? :-) ). Atm I was looking to keep cost down, as I believe for street use the Razor-R Lite should be more than enough and far better than the stock one.  :) 
I asked the Greek importer, who is also an official service, and he can service & rebuild/upgrade the shock to full Razor-R whenever I want. Probably any suspension specialist can do it / should be able to do it.
