I hope it passes. It should be legal everywhere; it definitely reduces congestion because we use space that cages cannot use.

I wish it were legal around here, just last night some dipstick in the passing lane stayed right beside another guy, effectively blocking me. Although I would've liked to lane split and pass him (I feel I can do it safely) I'm not so confident that people that intentionally block that way are going to let me remain safe when I get next to them. I wonder how many people are getting hurt by people bumping into them, cutting them off or people not lane splitting safely. Is that the reason they want to stop lane splitting, people getting hurt doing it? There's always a risk factor in about anything you do, no reason to stop a good thing but I don't know the details on this. Why they do what they do.

It is about education, if this passes in WA I would hope there is a BIG move to educate cagers here.  A lot of road rage goes on here and I have seen cagers and have been part of cagers intentionally Mucking with you as a motorcyclist.  In Calif where I am originally from my experience was mainly out of state morons because they are well out of state morons who are just out of state morons :)   BUt there are instate morons too

This bill is dead/pointless till Judy Clibborn is removed from Chair of the Transportation Committee. She has been there for ~8 years and literally refuses to put this bill up for a hearing. Pretty sure nothing can be done until next legislative session.

It has passed the senate multiple times, and would spark interesting debate in the house, but unfortunately it will literally NEVER get there because she says "I don't think it is worthy of our time." So one woman effectively kills a pseudo-democratic process because she doesn't support the bill and removes it from the House's debate schedule. How can we question Lane Sharing's merits if we can never talk about it?

I've seen this bill die 3 years in a row (and that's just as long as I've been paying attention, I'm sure it has been going for longer). It is very frustrating that we get a few weeks of hope with this bill every spring and once it fails it can't be brought up again for another 11 months.

Don't waste your whole life waiting for some dogmatic woman to give this bill even just a chance. I have been mostly filtering and on occasion splitting in WA for 2 years. I've been ticketed once, but otherwise had absolutely no other issues. Just a month ago a motorcyclist here was rear ended at a stoplight by a driver on heroin and killed. For this reason, I will continue to take my safety into my own hands. Worth it.

That is part of the problem with the WA DOT system, these Oligarchs answer to no one. Sad these socialist communist parasites get the rubber stamp simply because a D is on the end of the title. But then the % of minions in this state are endorsing this socialist nazi regime because this is what they are, Maoist East wind followers
