faffi
I find it interesting to see what kind of motorcycles various people have owned. Some lists are coherent, as in just sportbikes or just cruisers or whatever. Other lists are all over the place, making me want to learn why. This is my list - I hope as many as possible jump in with their own, be that just a single bike or tons. 1974 A100 - bought as non-running a pile of parts, sold as a running pile. Good riddance 1979 CB100 - last year's model bought brand new in 1980 - man, was I proud! 1976 Panter 50 - worst thing with an engine I've owned, period. If I could have afforded it I would have set it afire 1978 CX500 - big, surprisingly fast - and with a hinge in the middle. Totaled 1983 XJ750 Seca - bought brand new, poor finish, crashed twice before 1200 miles had passed. Had to go 1976 CB350F - slow, unloved by previous owners, harsh ride, smoooooth engine. Always collected a crowd. Sad to see it go 1978 GS550E - peaky & vibrating engine, trustworthy chassis, good looks. Memories much better than the bike 1985 CB1100F - fast, also most stable motorcycle I have ever thrown a leg over. Throwing sparks around 125 mph corners - yeah! 1981 GSX400F - slow, plagued with faults, crashed heavily, then rebuilt with new frame and many more parts. Happy to say goodbye 1980 CB250N - very, very slow, physically huge, took a tumble when a shock absorber broke off. More fun than it should bee 1976 XS500 - brought back from the dead, survived two engine failures and a crash before being sold on. Still liked it 1982 GS650L - pretty and practical bike with horribly dangerous handling. Passed on without regret 1983 VT500FT - good, predictable handling that didn't prevent a crash, sold and bought back several times. Sold for the final time in 2013 1984 Z1300DI - powerful engine that managed to feel very weak, handling terrible. Sold after 300 miles of unpleasant riding 1981 XL500S - gutless engine that actually felt quite eager and fun. After staying at various homes now back with my nephew for restoration 2002 VN800A - stunningly pretty marred by poor finish and so-so handling. The first 5000 miles a revelation before cruising became boring 1987 RG250 - never ran, never registered. Sold as is 1996 GSX600F - only bike never to leave me sore after a day on the road. Sold when two-wheel sliding around corners became the norm 1980 Z400G - great backroad flyer, very easy to maintain, superb handling after fetling. Handed to oldest son who replaced it with a Monster 1979 Z400G - complete parts bike for above. Handed to kid with the above 1979 Z400G - project, will maybe become a StreeTracker one day if I can get around to it. One of these days 1996 Sprint 900 - very competent, yet impossible to love. Totaled 1987 VS1400 - what torque! What throbs! What horrible handling! Had to go. Still miss the engine. Well, not after I got the MT-07 in 2017 1995 Thunderbird 900 - never registered, mixed with the bike below to build my Daybird. Dead engine made Daybird build rather difficult 1993 Daytona 900 - used as technical foundation to build a classic cafe racer; the Daybird. Ridden hard. Sold to my brother to stay alive 1987 XT600Z - already abused to death, but still regret selling it instead of restoring it. Good vibrations 1972 850GT - in desperate need of restoration, never registered. Sold as is 1993 CB400SF - great build quality, supremely pretty, but boring. Handed to youngest kid who still has it despite 5 spills 1977 Z650B1 - boring bike that for silly reasons stayed with me for over 4 years. Spent way too much on it. Handed to oldest son 1977 KZ650B1 - US-version used for parts. Never registered. Still have frame and most parts scattered about 1982 XV750SE - bought to build a standard, ended up with a Scrambler. Multiple engine failures. So I bought the below 1990 XV1100 - used the engine and electrics for the Scrambler only for the engine to fail after 2000 miles. Parked in wait of inspiration [span]2015 MT-07 - hands down the most fun bike I have ever owned, bar none! Not perfect, but will be getting there [/span]

Elvishpresley
Only other bike is a Suzuki TU250X. BTW It is still a blast to ride. I can treat the throttle on it like an ON/OFF switch and never get in trouble while getting near 90MPG commuting.

faffi
Something tells me you live in Europe, Ralph? England, perhaps? RS250 is pretty rare outside Japan and possibly Australia AFAIK. Morini Strada 350 - was it the early classic, or the rather rare one (K2?) with a more or less full fairing? I think Performance Bikes tested it way, way back.
ralph
The Morini was a early Strada with wire wheels and drum brakes only sold a few weeks back. The one with full fairings was called a Dart over here and was a 400cc Morini stuffed into a 125 Cagiva frame and plastics.
faffi
Thanks for clarifying about the Morini - I'd forgotten most stuff about the K2. Not even sure I knew about the chassis thing at all. The model was so ugly (to me) and so far astray from the earlier, and really cool, Stradas and Sports models it wasn't funny. I see now that you had a CB250RS - I thought you had a two-stroke race rep. (Now I see that the street version were named NS250, the RS was a track bike only).
