I currently have gas so bad right now that I could probably fart on you sticker right now and make it just evaporate off your tank.
sounds like someone needs to put a warning sticker on you! :D

Wanted to revise this thread. I just removed the tank sticker on my bike yesterday and it was so easy. I used a plastic pry that you use to open electronic gadgets. The best thing about it is that it won't scratch the paint. The sticker would roll and scrap off like paint. The next thing i did was use WD40 on a rag and vigorously rubbed off the sticker residue. Once i was satisfied with that, I just used some plexus plastic cleaner and it was all good.

So just when everyone thought this thread was dead/or should be....

My $0.02 is about the virtues of Avon skin So Soft to remove the goo left on the tank. I've been using that stuff for years ever since an old girl friend turned me on to it. It never messes up the surface and cleans the sticky crap up easily. Not only is it used for that, but here is a list of 100 things that it is used for. Many of which are motorcycle/rider friendly:

1. Use Skin So Soft Bath Oil as an after shower moisturizer.

2. Skin So Soft Bath Oil can be used to remove makeup.

3. Skin So Soft Bath Oil is a great tanning oil (no sunscreen).

4. Use Skin So Soft Bath Oil as a hot oil treatment to soften cuticles.

5. Use Skin So Soft Bath Oil as a great massage oil for tired muscles.

6. Skin So Soft Bath Oil cleans off tape marks left from bandages on skin.

ANIMAL USES

70. Skin So Soft Bath Oil is a great insect repellent for your pet. (as recommended in "Outdoor Life" and "Field and Stream")

71. Mix 5 parts water, 1 part Skin So Soft Bath Oil and mist on animals. Brushing it in makes their coats gleam and keeps insects off so the animals don't fidget in the show ring.

72. Mix Skin So Soft Bath Oil in your pet's bath water. It takes the fleas off of them and in between baths, spray them with the same mixture to get rid of new fleas.

73. Rub Skin So Soft Bath Oil on your hands before and after working with your pets and farm animals. It will remove pet odors.

74. Black Fly Spray For Dogs: Use Skin So Soft Bath Oil as a spray or a dip. 1 cup Skin So Soft Bath Oil, 1/2 cup liquid detergent and 3 gallons of water.

75. For dog's dry skin mix 1 tablespoon of Skin So Soft Bath Oil per gallon of water and use as an after bath rinse. Or spritz your pet's coat once per week.

76. If your dog should get tar or asphalt on the pads of its feet rub on Skin So Soft Bath Oil and then wipe off.

77. Flea Bath: Use a flea and tick shampoo. Rinse, rinse, and rinse so no soap residue is left. Follow with final rinse of 2 gallons of water mixed with flea dip and 1 capful of Skin So Soft Bath Oil. It helps replace the oils lost in bathing and has the added benefit of repelling insects.

78. Flea Repellent: 1-1/2 ounces of Skin So Soft Bath Oil per gallon of water; used as a sponge-on dip (or as a spritz) has been tested and proven to have significant, but not complete, flea-repellent activity for a 6-day period. It should help those dry coats, too.

79. Use Skin So Soft Bath Oil on chow dogs. Many chows have very dry and flaky skin. Dandruff and itchiness will improve tremendously and hair will become shiny and smooth.

80. Use the following on horses and on dogs when necessary: 1 cup AVON Skin So Soft Bath Oil, 1 cup white vinegar, 1 cup (or more) water, 5 cc of essential oil of citronella (from the health food store NOT the type you burn to keep insects away that is available in a drug store). Mix in a spray bottle. Straight Skin So Soft Bath Oil works well for mosquitoes too but really makes your dog greasy.

81. Barns: Use of an inexpensive fly control spray or a diluted mix of Skin So Soft Bath Oil in water can be sprayed on barn walls and floor to discourage insects from hanging around or to eliminate them before putting in the new bedding. As time permits, and if you can keep your goats out of the barn for a few hours - let the barn stand and air out before re-filling with bedding.

82. Skin So Soft Bath Oil massaged directly into the skin of your dog acts as a successful repellant, makes dogs smell good, and helps prevent dry, itchy skin.

83. A natural way to help cats with flea problems and flea allergies is to rub Skin So Soft Bath Oil into the skin.

84. Skin So Soft Bath Oil is safe for fur licking cats as long as it does not contain sunscreen.

85. Don't overuse Skin So Soft Bath Oil. Rub a small amount into your pet's skin, not more than every few days. Common sense is the rule. Sprinkling yeast on the cat food helps, too.

86. Skin So Soft Bath Oil can be used as a hoof polish. This will put a nice shine to the hoof without drying it.

87. Skin So Soft Bath Oil can be used as a muzzle, eye, and ear enhancer.

88. Bathe your pet as usual then put a capful of Skin So Soft Bath Oil in a 5 gallon bucket of warm water and sponge this all over your pet. Your pet's coat will be silky and soft when it dries and your pet won't itch anymore. .

89. Skin So Soft Bug Guard towelettes work great on your pet's ears and around the eyes.

AUTOMOBILE USES

90. Skin So Soft Bath Oil removes tar spots from the car without damage to the paint.

91. Use Skin So Soft Bath Oil to clean vinyl dashboards, seats, and tops. It not only cleans, but keeps it soft and helps to prevent any cracking.

100. Use a Skin So Soft towelette as an automotive air freshener.

Why, no, how can there possibly be 4 pages about how to remove a sticker? Love it.

Avon skin so soft? Really? You forgot to list "use 101"  ;)

As a moderator, I am tempted to delete this thread. But as a person with a twisted sense of humor, I kinda want to see it keep going.

Instead of removing the sticker don't you guys think we should be petitioning Yamaha to put stickers on BOTH sides of the bike?!?! Seems like a huge safety oversight IMO!

What do you mean? I had stickers on both sides. Maybe they assume Canadians are either extra stupid or higher risk takers and need the extra warnings.

I'll tell you good sir. What YOU have created is arguably one of the hottest, highly intriguing and more importantly the most relevant of threads to ever grace the interwebs, thats what.

Two of them?! The one was hard enough to get off, now you want to struggle with stickers twice as much over safety reasons?! Let's work smarter, not harder and simply put the dag-um thing right in the middle where it can be seen from both sides and especially while sitting on it (as though it won't be seen because it's on one side only, ha!) and maybe use some 'people friendly' adhesive instead of bear claw resistant glue, thank you!

I have been running with my "warning sticker removal mod" for about a year now, and so far I am very happy with it ... however, for anybody who may need it, here is the part number & link to buy an OEM replacement sticker if you wanted to restore the tank back to stock.
