how much did you invest in your FZ/MT 07?

Recommended Posts

Curious, today I decided to add up what I spent (so far) on my MT 07.

cost of bike 8,000 USD (Philippine price)
[ol type=decimal][*]DNA filter $69.00
[*]R6 throttle tube w/grip, $40.00
[*]Pare Brise wind screen $32.00[*]Preload adjusters $34.00
[*]Radiator grill guard, $28.00
[*]Frame Sliders, $135.00
[*]ECU Flash, $335.00
[*]FTECU Active tune, $385.00
[*]LeoVince underbody, $410.00[/ol]
Total $ 9469.00
Anyone else inclined to know what they actually spend on their bikes? Or am I the only crazy one?
I'm done with the possible exception of a Penske rear shock and Andreani front fork cartridges.

Aw hell no, I ain't falling for this crap again!  There is no way you are going to get me bummed out about how much money I flushed down the toilet.  (I literally reverted half or more of my mods back to stock over the years).

$8000 CDN for the bike.... In higher-end parts and bits and pieces, (and if riding gear counts +/- 3500) Ive easily surpassed this figure. I still haven't swapped the suspension or a done ECU flash...Yee-EEsh!   I dont for one second regret any of it.
Best yet, my lovely wife hasnt fussed one bit! :D

I think its finally time to order some uber fancy custom pantalones for us both!  Exchange rate be damned. Hee hee hee.

I think my list is a best bang for the buck/common sense way to make the FZ-07 a fun and safe bike to ride. I got good deals on everything, but was either patient or persistent enough to do so.

2WDW Flash
Bitubo XZE11 shock
Sonic fork springs
Evotech radiator guard
Shogun frame sliders
OES axle sliders
R6 throttle tube
MWR air filter
EBC FA252HH front brake pads
Dart Manta windscreen
Barkbuster Storm hand guards
Mad Hornets levers
Osram Night Racer light bulb
Denali Soundbomb Mini Horn
Mirror extenders
Blindspot mirrors

Approximately $1500

(not feeling the need for anything else other than a set of Michelin PR4s in the summer)

To give credit where credit is due, all of these thing I learned about on FZ07.org

Only counting things mounted on the bike and the bike itself it would be about $9200, another $900 in new personal gear, all in all about $10000.

Exhaust/Fuel controller - ~$600 if I recall.
OEM bags/brackets - ~$500
Radiator guard from rotaryryan ~$125

Excluding cost of ownership, bike and all ~7.8k. (Paid 6.5 for the bike with 32 miles) I'm pretty pleased with my expenses, even including fuel and maintenance.

Edit: forgot frame sliders, throw an extra hundo in there.

Everything went braap.

I always modify everything and keep all receipts. One of my toys I've had 40 years and have well over a thousand receipts! BUT, I've never been dumb enough to actually tally any of them!!!  :D:D:D

Hi is 13 this: https://fortnine.ca/en/crg-billet-internal-mirror-adapter ? If so were they easy to install and are you happy with them? I'm having a problem finding the Rhinomoto bar ends in Canada and my lane split mirrors are sitting on the floor waiting.  :( thanks!

brokenhat - It appears to be the right part as far as I can tell, they look just like mine. I would call them just to confirm everything is correct.

I tried to tally all the money I'd put in my guns once and came away needing a stiff drink. Learned that lesson real quick.
