I can't say that this gel would work for a passenger seat because I haven't done mine but I can say the stuff is amazingly comfortable and just a half inch thickness of it works real well. I've seen other gels on amazon but I don't know if they're as soft as the liquid polymer gel and some also incorporate memory foam on the top part of the gel pad but I can't vouch for them in any way.
