Found a nice looking pair of tank grips. Any owners?

So, I've been searching for some tank grips for the bike. I think it's a necessity for anyone who's riding on the track since the tank's shape is what we call "form over function" IMHO. I ran across these on ebay and I was wondering if there's anybody that has them.

I really like the way they look, the price is great, the adhesive is by 3M and the place where they're designed to be applied seems to be well-thought.

So, are there any owners around here?

I bought those but havn't put them on and probably never will :(
The rubber is like hard plastic and they look worse in reality.
The 3M adhersive will probably be impossible to remove once installed.
Stay away is my advice

If you get around to it a couple of photos would be great.

Thanks a lot.

Yeah, I get that. I just wanted to get a better idea of the material. I understand if it's trouble.

Thanks anyway for your feedback.

Well, for the price you aren't out much if you don't like them.

But, if you REALLY believe they use genuine 3M(registered trademark) adhesive I've got a few pieces of prime swamp prop'ty I'll let ya have... cheeeeep!

My concern would be regarding getting the things off if/when I wanted without damaging the paint. With known adhesive it shouldn't be a big deal, with questionable Chinese... anyones guess. Try 'em and let us know!

For the life of me I can't find the product I have on my SV from over a decade ago which is "shark skin".

the genuine article the ebay guy is knocking off is probably these.

Funny thing is I just got them in the mail today. They look exactly like I hoped they would. Nothing like bugeyes mentioned. The rubber is soft and flexible. Probably his was a different product, there are a few different sellers with similar looking products on e-bay. I guess I got lucky. ;)

My only minor concern now is regarding the adhesive like you mentioned. Still not too worried since I have my tank vinyl wrapped so I don't have to worry about damaging the paint.

@pattonme
I checked stompgrip's product, but to be honest I wasn't willing to spend that much. They're really nice though, I had them on my previous bike (they were already on it when I bought the bike).

I used these on my ZX6r and loved them. They were comfortable and gripped well. Maybe not the best grip for the track, but were definitely good for the street. They're be what I put on my bike.

My problem with the Tech spec is they look great, but don't come anywhere near my knees or thighs when I am on the bike. so I just forgot about it.

Tech-spec, Yes. "Saving" money buying Ebay, No.
