Undertail cowl substitutions?

Recommended Posts

rhoust64
I am looking to cover the space under the tail, where the undertail cowl goes. At the moment my bike does not have a cover and I want to prevent water and debris from getting in. Does anyone have any recommendations for something that I could make to cover that space without having to purchase a new one? This picture is the part I am referring to.

They're $50 if you want a new OEM one. Not sure if you went down that road already.

I have been looking around and have a few deals. Just trying to see if there are any DIY ideads out there before purchasing one.

Seem to recall someone making a carbon-fiber replacement, perhaps on ebay?
