DIY Dual Circuit 2 Wire LED Signals

This is basically a repost from an earlier "what did you you do to your.."

Thought I'd post it here in case anyone was interested in the mod.

Basically it takes a 2 wire led signal light for the front, and retains the stock function of running light while on, and then signal light when you use the turn signals.

a pic of the "custom harness" using an SPDT relay and TST 3 wire harness.

wiring diagram for the SPDT. Look up SPDT if you are'nt familiar with their basic operation.

How did you retain the DRL function using the SPDT?

It's all about keeping that rubber side down.

@kamelreds I added a wiring diagram to the original post.
Basically how it works:

Bike running - signal lights hooked up to the running light; constant on
Signals on - the SPDT "switches" the power to the signals off, effectively cycling the signals. As you notice in the second video, it cycles alternately with the rears.

That's what I was assuming!  Nice job man.  I might look into doing this since I put non-DRL LEDs on mine.  Unfortunate thing is I already made my own "harness" so that the LEDs I bought were plug n' play.  Oh well, it took me all of 5 minutes to do each one. xD
At the same time, I don't really care that I don't have DRLs but it would be nice to give people a little more light to judge the size/distance/speed of the bike.

My signal LEDs in the front literally blind me if I look at them. They are brighter than my high beam when looking straight at both. Don't think I could have them as running lights lol. Nice work. The alternating signals is cool, thought it might be slightly confusing to the average driver.
