It's a 937cc Twin sitting in a lightweight Dirtbike frame with Ohlins racing suspension. Basically an Italian FZ09 on roids

Well now I want that one! 🤣

They're heavily featured in the new-ish CHiPs movie, and they look like an absolute blast.

Indian FTR1200 looks great. Too tall and heavy for me tho. 07 to continue.

I sat on one of these at the local bike show on the weekend.  Damn, it's a sexy bike.  Spendy, but it's sexy and has a lot of horses crammed in there.

For me, I'll probably get a Tracer 900 GT in a year or two.  Very nearly bought one on Saturday ;)  I really like these bikes, but I do a bunch of longer runs, and those CP3 engines look like sooooo much fun.

I think my next bike is going to be a V-Strom 650XT.  Always wanted an ADV bike.  I considered a BMW F850 GS or a Triumph Tiger 800 XC, but couldn't swing the extra $$ at the time.

Ninja 1000 ABS if I go with my head or MT-10 if my heart wins out.  I like the Ducati SuperSport, BMW S1000R and Aprilia Tuono but maintenance costs scare me as I have the potential to put some miles on a bike.  The MT-10 is pretty close to perfect for me with the exception of fuel range so I might let it come down to where I move to when I return to the USA next year.

The ninjas are a solid line up but I do love that MT-10!

Trying to find something to go on long trips with the wife. I was thinking either Yamaha FJR or the Tracer 900 GT..

Man, I'd love to get into an MT-10... but that fuel mileage is so freaking bad. Even though it's manageable.. the 80 mile range is really what kills it.

I think the FJR is made more for two up riding and long distance touring, is more comfy and it's just a guess but I'd bet it will deflect more wind/less Jimmy Buffeting. 😁 Go to Yamahas web site and compare the two with the 360 degree view. You'll see the windscreen on the FJR is much wider and designed better to cut through the wind rather than stand up against it or so it appears with the Tracer.

The only thing i have against the FJR is the size. Being 5'6'' 165 lbs. im not sure how confident i would be with the wife on the back at a stop light.

That's definitely something to consider but if you look at the specs the seat height of the MT-07 is 31.7" and with the adjustability of the FJR1300 it adjusts down to the very same seat height, 31.7". I would take the wife and go sit on one to be sure.

I want more horsepower but love my FZ07 the way it's setup, I'm getting the extreme creations turbo kit and some performance rods this year. I do want another track bike though so i'll probably get a 636 or something too.

looking at R1's recent dyno graph posting, the rpm range that I run in mostly puts me at 35-45 hp which is the 300-400cc size bike range. I would just have to get used to running at 50% higher rpm most of the time. But I would lose about 30-40lbs. of weight in the smaller bike. Today, bike weight is becoming important again just like four years ago when I traded the Gladius for the FZ.

Seat height is one thing, height of the weight is another. A tallroader can be a problem for some (incl. me) even with a lowish seat height. And the amount of fuel coming with a bigger bike adds to top weight.

Just do it!

All true and all the more reason to simply go and sit on one and maybe take a test ride with or w/o wifey to get a feel for it. There are other things to consider as well, it's just easier to test ride one than to guess at everything.

More than likely as I age and I get to be around 190, it will be a VR bike, tech by then will be awesome.

Ninja 1000 is an awesome bike, I almost bought one. But then I started calling insurance companies. What you will discover is that the word NINJA scares the hell out of insurance companies. Be prepared for $100 a month in insurance premiums.

I have seen a lot of people scared off of them through insurance quotes.  I found people who had to clarify the model and were able to get reasonable numbers.  Something about the 1000 abs being coded ZX1000G versus the ZX-10 being ZX1000J...  In any case, someone really messed up by making it so close as I saw a lot of people in comments on reviews talking about how they were sold on the bike until the insurance quote.

The chicken goes, cluck!

The cow goes, moooo!

The Ninja goes BOOOO!!

I can see why they'd do that. The word, Ninja, is pretty much synonymous with the word speed. Even vegetarians brag about how fast their Ninja juicer is.
