zoltan
I've just stumbled this exhaust: https://www.gpr-motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/shop/brand/yamaha-exhausts/mt-07-from-2014 On their website they claim: On average there is a 50% weight saving over standard and an average power increase without mapping, of 5,5 Hp, Average Torque increse +4 Nm. Cheaper than akra + perform better than akra but very ugly. Has anyone tried it yet?
caliesv
Don't care how much better it performs, it's ugly as hell lol! Sounds nice though.
Beemer
Sounds good, ugly yes but would look better on my pearl white FZ, I don't believe the 5.5 h.p. increase. I sense horn tootin'. Beemer
gregjet
That is the original GPR muffler. There are other GPR muffler shapes that are less...er...sorry no word for it. GPR make really good stuff. I have one one my partner's 690 Duke. Go to the GPR site and have a look the others are way less daggy looking and a couple are REALLY nice. My fav is the GPE model titanium.https://www.gpr-motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/shop/brand/yamaha-exhausts/mt-07-from-2014 Unfortunately they don't seem to make the powercone model for the MT.(look down the page for it.https://www.gpr-motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/cms/the-gpr-range-of-motorcycle-exhausts They come with a cylinder removable cat with 100c/sq" that fits just befor the muffler, so it has almost no restriction on flow. Go forth and modify my son...go forth and modify...

booboobusfz07
If going the cheap full system route I'll take a MIVV exhaust over the gpr any day. Looks so much better.
gregjet
Isuspect the xsr one will fit but will be ridiculous yamaha price and most likely not flow the best. Miiv is fine to to but I am a bit of a GPR fan. The best are prob the Arrow or the new stepped Yoshi. I have to agree about the white scarico model GPR though. I don't really give a stuff about looks, but it is a little too silly looking. Like the twin outlet mufflers made by some manufacturers. Go forth and modify my son...go forth and modify... Thanks for the info. That THUNDERSLASH exhaust oh my gosh is soo sexy. What a shame is not available for yamaha....and it's illegal. https://www.gpr-motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/51/Aprilia-RSV4-Exhaust---Thunder-Slash.html A stupid question but do you think it can be installed on my yamaha? gregjet
Easiest way is to contact them and ask. I know from a Husky tr650 forum that they are very helpful. Funny you like that one. It shows just how different tastes are. I REALLY don't like it. Like I really don't like the OEM MV Augusta ones. If there was ( and there may be) a good engineering reason, rather than aesthetic reason,I would like it better. Certainly, in theory, it would be possible to use it to put out 2 slightly out of phase pulses that would reduce the noise a bit. Go forth and modify my son...go forth and modify... gregjet
Have a look at the other available GPR cans. Ugly is totally subjective. I do agree the white one in the first post is a bit aweful though. Some people like body piercings, I find them so revolting to look at they make me literally sick in the stomach. Each of us has our own beautiful and ugly. Go forth and modify my son...go forth and modify...
