tony04
So I have the alpinestars viper air jacket and find it to be perfect for the hotter weather. My problem is that in the mornings/evenings the vest windproof liner does a decent job but my arms get super cold. The jacket breathes very well but I need a suggestion on what some of you guys are using for the non mid day rides when the temps dip a little cooler. Eventually I will pick up a second jacket for colder weather but until then has anyone had good luck with a particular brand of base layer that covers the torso and arms?? Thanks! azuryn
Thermals work great, also freeze-out makes ok gear if you can find it for a decent price somewhere online.
jerryv
I wear a red under armour knit top. It fits very tight so is not bulky. It's a thermal under garment and blocks the wind under my cortech jacket. i'ts like this one. https://www.underarmour.com/en-us/mens-ua-coldgear-infrared-crew/pid1259675-
gregjet
+1 for a quality particularly coolmax or polyproplene thermal or a quality support jersey ( eg skins). Good thermals are ridiculously comfortable, will stand a big range of temperatures and last forever ( I have one I have worn since 1989 for motorcycle and cycling). They usually scrunch up into a tiny ball so you can put them in the jacket pocket. Go forth and modify my son...go forth and modify...
