Clear Coat Repair

Recommended Posts

Looks like my bike had some sort of paint thinner or lacquer thinner dropped on it which resulted in some pock marking on the clear coat on the left side of the gas tank. They are pretty shallow but noticeably wide. Any one know of any methods to try and touch it up?

A new panel will cost you about $65 :)

Can't see the pic, but besides wet-sanding and re-clearing it... nothing will look as good. At $65 for a new panel, you won't find a body man to fix the existing panel and I wouldn't either personally.

+1 on the new panel if it bothers you that much. I think it'd be more money to fix it right than to purchase a new one... it is plastic afterall.
