Not a bad idea hahahaha. Im gunna ride all summer anyways. Blowdry the beard after showers.

Ummm.
 
The 8th photo, showing removal of the last fastener for the side panel, shows an Allen screw head.  I don't have that, but rather one of those push-pin plastic body fasteners.  What's the trick for removing that without breaking anything.  Drill it and buy a new one?

Ummm.

You take a small flathead screwdriver and push in the center of those things, and then use the screwdriver to pull out the fastener.
 
FTR, the picture is misleading -- he's using an allen head driver to push in the pushpin -- it's not an allen screw.

I was wondering if I can still turn on the bike with the ECU removed and if it is safe to do so. Reason being that I would like to replace my turn signals and see if they function properly while I wait for the return of the ECU.

yes you can. electrical is good to go.
