topazsparrow
So I took my bike for a spin and got caught out in the rain. It was under cover for a few days and when I took it out to clean it, there was white corrosion on the black pipes leading from the water pump area. This seems unusual for a brand new bike. Most of it wiped off where I could reach it with a bit of soap and a rag, but I'm worried how it will weather in a year or so. Has anyone noticed this on their bikes? How did you remedy or prevent it?
Guest Ralph
Mine is ok but I have heard of a few that soon corroded, I believe that the pipes are chromed under the paint. Only corrosion on mine is in a totally different area just a bit were the mirror head fits the stem I was quit surprised when I found it as though I ride in the rain I do look after it. Premium Member hobbs Posted March 31, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted March 31, 2016 Mine is corroded. Almost looks like aluminum corrosion, a white powdery substance that is difficult to remove. I have a lot of miles though and ride 365. Everything went braap.
