wojo72
Last weekend I installed my new fork caps with the preload adjusters. I also wanted to crank up the rear preload. I think that it's on 5 right now. I can't seem to get the collar on the shock to go any higher. The tool slips off when I try to crank on it. Does anybody have any tips on how to make this any easier. I put the bike on my rear stand so that I wouldn't knock it over. I also tried it while it was on the side stand. bmwpowere36m3
The factory tool is cheap, quite frankly... but make sure the tool is fully engaged with the notch on the adjuster ring and keep pressure with your other hand on the tool end (pressing it into the adjuster ring, while rotating). Wear gloves, since the edges are sharp and the tool can slip. Also if you can get the weight off the rear wheel, that'd help. However you need to improvise some way to hang the rear of the bike off the ground.
