Integrated taillight and flush mounted front turn signals.

I have LED's up front and the Motodynamic in the rear

I run a CustomLED relay, it did not mess with the motodynamic rear at all; front and rear blinkers flash at the same speed.  I will be removing the resistor on the tail light however as I don't need it anymore because of the LED relay I have installed. No need for unnecessary heat under the rear seat

No prob guys! That's why I joined these forums too... answers! If ya wanna know anything else about the setup, feel free to ask guys

So what turn signals do you have up front. I think you just made my day because I've been waiting to buy flush mounts for so long and never bought because of avoiding issues and aggravation.

@manny826 I have the TST industries flush mount signals up front. Very easy plug and play. They come with the adapters and everything you need. They are pretty bright and useful for cagers seeing your intentions from the side not just in front.

superbrightleds.com sells an electronic flasher that's literally plug 'n play. You just have to "mount" it. I drilled a small hole in the plastic that held the original unit and used some double-sided tape and a zip-tie.

I also have the CustomLED's relay with front LED's and a Motodynamic tail. Works perfect.

Very happy with looks and quality of the lights. Tail light turn signals and the fronts are out of sync but oh well. Debating on if I should take the resistor off the integrated tail light now that I have a tsts relay.

If you take the resistors out your lights will be in sync.

Ahh yes I took a quick look at it today and I'm going to need a harness since the resistors have the harness for the turn signals built right in.

Thanks to this thread I am now going to order the TST front flush mount LED signals and the integrated rear light! Thanks for the awesome thread! I got a tail tidy off eBay for $30 too, can't beat that.

I'm doing the same thing this coming Wednesday but with a slightly different tail tidy. About how long did it take you to install all three items? I'd like to get a rough idea how long to expect to work on it. I've never taken apart the rear portion of the bike so I'm guessing it's relatively involved for a newb like myself. ;)

Total time was about 2.5 hours. That also includes watching vids for instruction and troubleshooting (blew a fuse and dropped a bolt into the engine frame bay, what a pain in the a$$). Also I was very cautious taking off the plastics and that held me back a bit.

I did the integrated tail and a fender eliminator, took about an hour and a half. Was pretty straight forward plug and play. Putting the plastics back on was kind of a bitch.

Getting the plastics back in the proper place takes a bit of this http://wd40specialist.com/products/dry-lube/

I plan on getting the Motodynamics seq. integrated tail and some TST flush mounts (with the harness for easy install). I've read through this thread a few times, I don't really use my blinkers all that often so I really don't care if they blink fast or out of sync.

If I just get the tail light and flush mounts, will either the tail or front burn out any quicker by not installing whatever it is I need to sync up the blinkers? I noticed the TST flush mounts don't have the running light function either, so is the only thing I should be concerned about the blinker rate sync?

Does the rear tail light install require removing all the plastics for a tail tidy install? I wish I would've gotten the tail light when I did that install...

Yes...
tail plastics have to come off
it isnt as bad though
if you remove the top bolts and bottop push pins, you can leave the fronts connected and sneak the taillamp out its only held on by the 2 bolts up top and the 2 'hooks' on the tail plastics
the grommets and u-nuts will need to be transferred over to the new taillamp

Ok cool. I ordered the TST flush mounts and wiring harnesses. Can't beat the $19.99 price.

I plan on just removing my rear blinkers when I put the flush mounts on until I order the TST relay and Motodynamics seq. integrated tail light. I've already spent way too much on my FZ recently so those things will have to wait a couple months.

Also have a Florida vacation coming up in less than a month, can't wait...

Obligatory post reminding you to please use your turn signals at all appropriate times, not only for your safety but also to improve traffic flow around you. Sorry I gotta be that guy, it's my job and it's important for such a little thing. ;)
Anyway on to your topic. If you have turn signals blinking at two times normal speed they will understandably burn out at two times the normal rate. Now, with LEDs this is less of a concern because they have a much longer lifetime than your traditional bulbs, but they do still eventually burn out. However it is important to know how LEDs fail, since it is not all at once like a traditional bulb. When LEDs die it is a slow process where they get dimmer, dimmer, and dimmer until they don't produce any light anymore. The exception is overvolting them, this can cause them to completely fail.

Basically you do want to eventually install the relay if you are concerned with the longevity of your turn signals. I ordered the relay with the TST Industries flush mounted smoked LED front indicators and it was very cheap, definitely worth the tiny cost. Not only do they extend your new LEDs lifetime to their intended duration, but they also make the bike look better when the turn signals are on.

Another key point is the relay will make the sequential rear LED turn signals in the Motodynamic product work as intended, otherwise without the relay you'll get unintended behavior if you want the sequential setting turned on.

I hope I helped clear this up a bit! :D

Edit: I ordered it. For 9 bucks I guess I'll find out if it works or not.

I don't have any experience with that brand or specific product but it should work, I don't see why it wouldn't. It's a bit odd that the title of the item on their store says it's a flasher when in reality it should be just a plug and play relay, but I think that's just how they titled the item. Check the TST site though (where I got mine) because theirs might be a bit cheaper and I know they're a great store. Super fast shipping too, I got mine with my turn signals two days ahead of the expected delivery date.

The one on TST's website was over $23 with shipping.

Wow okay. I got my turn signals and relay together for $5.95 shipping. The FZ-07/R6 relay at TST was more expensive than the universal relay you linked though, and the universal one should work fine.

Edit: It's worth noting the one I got is a 2-pin relay and it's the "Gen2", meaning I can manually adjust the flash rate if I desire. That's where the extra $9 or so for my relay comes in. Not sure if the one you linked has these features or not. Just make sure it has a 2-pin connector.
