Yeah it's a common mistake with Japanese motorcycles. Many complain of cheap hardware, but the problem is actually wrong tools being used.

17mm wrench for the mirrors and 7mm wrench for the peg feelers. I had neither at a track day and had to borrow them from other riders.

I ran across this thread searching for rear axle nut size. Nice resource! After installing woodcraft sliders I need to get a deep well socket and needed to see what size without uninstalling the slider's rod.

13mm is also a commonly used size. I use 13mm more often than 14mm socket/wrenches. I don't remember the last time I used 14mm.

Also used for wheel removal is 4mm hex wrench to remove the ABS sensors on the wheels. I just replaced the button head bolts with hex head cap bolts after dealing with a stripped button bolt. On smaller bolts, button heads should be illegal.

Front (counter) sprocket nut 30mm.

I know, I just had to buy one. If anyone needs 1 get a deep well if you have case savers on the stator + you don't have to remove the left footpeg. It only becomes apparent when you have to use a breaker bar and the 1/2 torque wrench. Luckily thats all that O'Reillys had when I got there on Saturday. $12 as opposed to $10, plus it makes a good weapon.

For the axle nut, does it matter if it's a 27mm deep or regular socket?

Regular socket will reach just fine.
