Heated grips not working

Recommended Posts

jesper32
Hi guys

I just got myself a pair of Yamaha heated grips: Yamaha Grip Heater 120 YME-F2960-00-00
Been fitting these according to the instructions, and checked for lose, cramped or otherwise damaged wires, but everything looks good.

My issue is, that they are not working and no LED's are being turned on. It does get VERY hot behind the control panel, but no where else.

Any suggestions as to what could be the issue or could they be faulty?

Br
Jesper

Sounds simple, but did you make sure your polarity was correct for 12vdc?

I'm sure I did. Black to black and red to red :D

Maybe try and connect them straight to a 12vdc source and see if they work. If not, then you might need a new set.

I'm going to guess you got a defective unit with a short in there somewhere. Is it pretty plug and play, or do you need to do much wiring yourself?

The controller should not get hot, only the heating elements. Check for voltage at the plug for the slave grip and to the controller.
