Anyone mount their license plate over their tire?

Has anybody mounted their license plate over their tire rather than under their tail yet? Or to the left or right side of their tire even?

I do some research but cant find any parts that fit

I'm thinking it's going to have to be Jimmy rigged with some custom fabrication but I have no skills at most things of that sort.

At lest it will act as a mud guard as long as you have clearance when
the suspension compresses.

I have done it on many bikes, will look for pics tonight. It's usually just done by drilling a hole somewhere under there and using a couple screws and washers. Pretty common on most bikes.

I know this is an older thread, the fasteners under the tail closer to the engine are almost the exact width of a plate's holes. I just popped those out and some black plastic nuts and bolts to hold it. I used a small white LED light pointed at it from near the tail light. Used some aluminum to fill the hole and i have a customled tail light with the turns built in so i didnt need to spend anything on a tail tidy.
