Beemer
If you would like to share your method for finding exhaust leaks please post it here. So many people install new pipes and sometimes don't know how to or know to check for leaks so any information would be helpful. Beemer
Premium Member fz07fanboy Posted September 27, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted September 27, 2015 Just cover the exhaust outlet with a rag so you don't burn your hand and hold it for a couple seconds. If it's good the back pressure will build up and push your hand with no sounds of air leaking.
Premium Member noltz Posted September 27, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted September 27, 2015 The method i used was to light up an incense and lay it underneath the pipes, turn on the bike and see if the smoke trail blows around or moves, no leaks on mine. Global Moderator sorkyah Posted September 27, 2015 Global Moderator Share Posted September 27, 2015 if you have a party smoke machine you can plug the exhaust tip with a rag, and use the smoke hose to fill the exhaust with smoke There is also this method outlined on a bmw forum for checking intake leaks I could see it easily being adapted for use with our exhausthttp://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=253920 ATGATT... ATTATT, two acronyms I live by.
