Premium Member crazycracka501 Posted October 13, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted October 13, 2015 Yesterday I rode about 20 miles on the street with a friend on the back. She's not really heavy, I'm guessing combing we were probably like 300 lbs or less. I didn't adjust anything, it was kinda of a last minute thing. I had little problem handling the bike. But my concern is can there be any harm done from not adjusting the preload? Or that done simply to make it easier to control the bike? I'm no expert on this by any means, but my guess is that no harm would come of it with normal riding. You do have special circumstances where there might be a slight chance you could hurt your shock if you hit a really big pot hole at high speed, but then again I'm sure your shock would be the least of your worries is that were the case.
