Well, as the title says, I just picked up a band new FZ-07 from my local Yamaha dealer for an OTD price of $8,200. I have been looking for a new bike since October when I sold my 2009 Buell 1125CR. I went and looked at several different bikes before I saw the FZ-09 and was looking for one until I heard about the 07. From that moment on I knew I had to get one. So with today being my first chance to test ride one I promptly woke up at 1pm and called my Yamaha dealer (Flemington Circle Yamaha/EBR) they had one in stock. So I went over, quite lazily and was able to test ride it. I put about 20 miles on it while taking it on a few different local roads and highways, showed it off to my family and girlfriend then stopped at a friend's who then followed me back to the dealer. I needed it. So I fought myself off the bike and went to get the numbers. $155/mo + $160/mo for insurance (I have a few tickets, oddly none on a motorcycle). I went home and thought about it for about 30 minutes before calling them to let then know I will take it. Picked it up at 6pm and only had the chance to put 20 miles on it since taking ownership. After this weekend the miles well pile up quickly! I plan to commute and play on this bike so I'm estimating admit 10k miles/yr minimum since I won't be driving my truck often.

I also mentioned this it's my first Yamaha.

Well not exactly, I do have a 1997 Blaster and a 2001 Raptor 660R.

So not my first Yamaha, but my first Yamaha motorcycle. I previously owned 2 Buells, a 2003 XB9R as my first bike (wrecked in 3 months) and my last bike, a 2009 1125CR. That bike took me 18,000 miles in 2.5 years and one 3,500 mile trip in 10 (1,000 in 17 hours from Daytona to home). It killed me to sell it but it had issues and I couldn't afford the upkeep at the time.

What did I do in between October and today? Well I rode my mom's 2003 Buell Blast (honestly, I like it but I'm to big for it and it burns oil) I put 3,000 miles on it in about 3 months. At least it kept me sane!

So I closed one chapter and opened another in my motorcycle career. I hope this bike will live up to the Yamaha name as far as reliability. Only time will tell as I ride all year and through all weather (except snow, that's for the snowboard and the truck). I also hope to do some long trips in the near future.

Well, that's my intro.

Great to have you here! You are going to love having a reliable bike. I wouldn't consider myself brand loyal, but I am a big Yamaha fan. So far everything I bought from them has exceeded my expectations. When choosing a product I even go so far as to specifically look if it's actually "Made in Japan'
This is a brand new bike with a brand new engine design to so there could be little things will emerge once more bikes are on the road, but Japanese manufacturers (and people) are very serious when it comes to quality control so I don't expect much, if anything.

Thanks again for joining us!

Just put 120 miles on the FZ today, went up to Bethlehem, PA for the Musik Fest. Hung out for a few hours and went home. Filled up my first tank since taking ownership. 156 miles on the tank only took 2.233 gallons. Could have easily made it to 200 miles. I love the bike! Two up riding is great as well. My GF just wants to see if I can get a more comfortable seat as after about 50 miles it gets uncomfortable. As for me, it is allot more comfortable than the Blast. However I would like to see about getting something similar to the comfort seat that I had on my 1125. More updates to come! First service is 400 miles away.

Scheduled my 600 mile (1,000KM) service for this upcoming Tuesday. I put 350 miles on the bike so far. Only another 200 miles before I'm at the 600 mile mark. I can't wait for the break-in period to be over. But 1,000 miles (1,600KM) will come very soon!

408 miles as of now, I love to ride this bike! I stopped at my local Yamaha/EBR dealer to get some chain lube since this is my first chain driven motorcycle. Look what they have, so tempting...

Welcome njdevils1990, you've certainly been bitten by the FZ bug! Be sure to add your production number to our list. If I knew how to link it here I would. Maybe someone will help me out here. In any case, glad you're loving your new bike!

Well, after selling my 2015 in September 2015 after making the mistake of moving to Delaware and my insurance went from $160/month to ~$250/month (should have been my first warning of that state) i bought a 2015 Honda Grom on 10 March 2016 and 9 days later got rearended by a texting driver going 50mph while I was at a red light. Was in a coma for 2 weeks, hospital for a month, rehab hospital for a month and a day and outpatient rehab for two months. I'm still recovering and have about 5-10% to go until I'm back to normal. I went from March '16 to February '17 before riding my mom's 2003 Buell Blast again until last week when I was originally going to look at a '17 KLR650 but on Wednesday after talking to my manager about bikes I've had I got the FZ-07 on my mind and found that the same dealer I bought my '15 from had one for $400 more than the KLR, so after work on Wednesday 1 November I went to the dealer and bought a '17 FZ-07 for $7,800 OTD (only $150/month) insurance is also much cheaper than the '15 at $1,077/year ($89/month instead of $160/month, I don't have any points on my record this time). Here's "Number 2"

No ABS, I'm personally not a fan of ABS on a bike so didn't want to spend the additional $300 for a red model with ABS.
