FZ-07 Flash Dyno charts!

Oh your not being a jerk at all. It's just that Nels is staple of this forum and has earned tons of respect, so we are kinda fond of the guy.

send him your ecu, you'll quickly learn why. Sorry if I was a jerk actually, I've been staying up late every night working on the forum.

Holy crap, even on the stock exhaust chart, look at the HP increase between 4500 and 8500 RPM!

Also shocked to see that stock, the FZ-07 only makes 4 more HP than my 450CC dirtbike! anyone want to race your stocker agains my dirtbike? lol

That is rear wheel Horse Power

First impressions after a short test ride, M4 with stock air filter, lid removed...........throttle response is much better, more progressive, not so herky jerky.  Definitely can feel the extra ponies on the top end....motor is much happier at max revs.....crazy wheelies....gotta keep my foot on the rear brake in 1st and 2nd gear if ya know what i mean.  Great job Nels! 8-)

Stock Yamaha ECU has  retarded timing curves in the first three gears..  re-flash  your  ECU  and the bike will come to life in 1 through 3rd gears

Akra Ti- best hp/tq by a good margin ...it's close to 75whp/55TQ

IXIL- THE WORST EXHAUST- performance is well below a tuned stock exhaust flash... I can't even recall the HP/TQ but it was bad...

All others name brands such as arrow, graves, leo vince, etc all perform really close to each other- avg differ was up to 1.5hp or tq...avg was 70whp/50TQ

Dyno graphs are pretty to look at but what they totally cannot show is how much smoother the motor runs...

Dynos vary a  lot too ..  altitude  temperature  barometric pressure  .  The only real Dyno Comparison would be  to run all the tests on the same dyno  same  weather and temp & altitude ..
It's  funny a snowmobile Magazine  tested a bunch of sleds on the same Dyno  all their  HP ratings were way  high   they dynoed my  2014 Ski Doo Renegade 800  at  163   HP  yet  my  155  HP  Yamaha Attack can beat it on top end ..
Two years later I read an article that the Dyno  exaggerated about  10 HP on all the sleds .

All these FZ-07  Owners need to meet at a Drag strip and see who has the best running bike

That's a juicy torque increase in the low and mid-range. 8)

Are there any gains to adding a k&n air filter vs the stock filter, both without a snorkel on?

I plan on getting the ecu flash, I have a full Yoshi pipe installed. Before I send in my ecu, I'm just wondering if I should change up the air filter too.

All are stock yes?
Stock exhaust and filter for both?
Only differences is one from factory setting and another is with dyno-tuning?

Because the torque increase seems higher than those with the aftermarket exhaust fitted?

My apologies for double asking, English is not my first tongue.

No gains changing to an aftermarket air filter in my opinion. The standard air filter flows well.

You might see an additional 1 horsepower or so at certain rpms (everything counts), but it requires significantly more custom fueling maps in the ecu specific to the filter type.

Removing the airbox snorkel also makes a difference, the fueling has been adjusted to suit in most popular ecu flashes, if in doubt ask the tuner.

It is a stock exhaust with the intake snorkel removed.  I may be wrong but I think most aftermarket exhausts end up with less torque than stock because they have less back pressure.  If you have an aftermarket exhaust with proper fueling you will get more horsepower at the cost of some torque.

Not true based on the original dyno charts from various exhausts from 2WDW - typically most of the pipes gain at least 1-2 lbs in torque. Of course, those numbers are with a tuned flash for that pipe.

The one that appears to decrease torque is removing the db killer from the exhaust which does reduce back pressure.

A lot of the charts are not displaying, it’s saying you need to update your photobucket account to allow for 3rd party hosting

this happened long ago... not much can be done about it... we just have to wait for them to get a chance to find them old dyno charts and repost em...

what are you looking for?

best off the shelf exhaust- Akra-Ti w/baffle

worst off the shelf - Ixil- performs worst than stock

all other exhaust are within a few HP/TQ of 68hp/48tq of each other

aftermarket airfilter such as KN/DNA/MWR etc shows very little gains over stock airfilter in stock airbox...

****the best combo is a Hordpower Airbox w/ Yoshi exhaust for a whooping 80hp/55tq-  other exhaust maps available with Hordpower Airbox

I currently am running a Akra Ti with the 2wdw tune, I am just thinking about the hord box now.

I have been talking to them and they sent me a graph for the Akra Carbon + box and I just wanted to compare it to the graph without the box.

According to the graph they sent me (Akra Carbon + Hord box) it only makes 71hp and 49 torque, just seemed a little low against the results Hord is advertising.

Hordpower creates his own maps on his own dyno... 2WDW also created maps for his airbox on they dyno, but they are not the same maps... Akra carbon is a peaky hp/tq race pipe compared to the Yoshi or Akra-Ti which give broad wide useable power...

Any stats/graphs on a hordpower intake w/ an akra carbon exhaust, baffle out?

@hordboy has plenty of dyno charts on his website. Here’s a chart for the hordpower air box, tune and full yoshi exhaust (most decent full systems will give roughly the same performance) versus standard bike:

You can really notice the additional power in the upper rev range, it revs out a lot more eagerly.
