daniel Posted May 10, 2015 Share Posted May 10, 2015 Hi all, After stalking this forum for month I finally pulled the trigger and got a white fz-07! I already installed frame sliders and adjusted the play in the throttle cable. I didn't measure the chain slack yet, but after coming home from my first ride I realized that the chain is touching the top of the swing arm. That doesn't look good to me. Is it possible to adjust the chain without a centerstand? My other bike (1982 CB750) has one so I never tried it on just the side stand? I would like to eat your opinions. YZEtc Posted May 10, 2015 Share Posted May 10, 2015 Yes, it's normal for the chain to touch the top of the swingarm. In fact, that's why that black plastic-looking thing is there that the chain rides on. There has to be some slack.Measure it before you do anything.You may be surprised. You can do a chain adjustment (whenever it is truly needed) with the wheel on the ground, but it's easier to get right the first time on a swingarm stand.
