Cool stuff, but I think you should incorporate the "0" in FZ-07... Otherwise it looks like FZ 7

you can place a "0" in the third option pretty easily haha. But I think the Z needs a bit more of a slant so not to be confused with a 2.

Actually, I usually remove all emblems, logos, etc. and not add them. But, of course, many like them.

From a purely design standpoint (having done logos myself), you have omitted a defining element, the 0, as noted by others. I think you need to work in all elements, and in a way that suggests the correct order. The empty slanted rectangle between the Z and the 7 of the third design looks like an obvious place, though proportions will probably need to be tweeked once inserted, to add balance to all. Good luck!!!

Yea I was trying to figure out a good way to incorporate a zero, just didn't seem to fit well. :/  I kind of like the FZ only the best, similar to how they have MT only.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

I doubt I'll make stickers/vinyl with this.  I have access to a manufacturing shop so I might incorporate this into a custom formed radiator guard or something.

Cool! I think if you want it to be more readable, you might need to increase the spacing between all the letters. From afar, it won't be that apparent - Kinda like how the last image is. All I can see if the triangle sticking out from the space made by the F and Z.

Btw, what program are you using to create these?

I'm a design engineer so we use Solidworks where I work.  I got a free home seat with the professional seat for work, so I pretty much have free reign on anything I want to draw up.  For example here is a chain guard I made for my YFZ-450:

Good suggestion on thicker spacing, most likely the letters themselves would end up being the negative, and the space would be the material.  The thickness I currently have would probably be pretty weak so I'll double it.

Side note- I actually kind of wanted it to blend in with that pattern on the last picture.  I like that retro Yamaha pattern and it would be cool if it looked normal but had the letters visible up close.

That's pretty coooool. I'm a graphic designer, so my tools are a bit different than yours haha.

Sounds good @cavedog! In the end, it's all about what you want!

Your tools are probably more suited to this type of work. I find it a little ironic that you are a graphic designer, but remove all the graphics from you bike haha.

I like option 1 and 2. I am by no means a graphic designer but how about something like this:

P1: Vice? I have no vice, I'm as pure as the driven snow!
P2: Yeah but you've been drifting

All the gear all the time!

Haha, I think you have me confused with someone else. I haven't removed any of the graphics off my bike. But I am a sucker for cleanliness.

I too wanted a cool logo for the FZ-07.

As I was designing my naked race bike project, I thought it would be cool if we had something like the modern R1 and R6 logos.

I came up with this FZ-07 SP logo (Special Edition), based off the YZF M1 MotoGP bike:
