It is all function. I washed my bike for the first time in over a 1.5 years in order to put these on lol. You couldn't see any of the blurple on the wheels before. Anything to help me be seen in rainy/dark Seattle commutes. That would be much harder to do without looking tacky tho... Here is a view from the back: My helmet is black & wht. so a little black along the bottom edge of my helmet won't stand out so much. Yours would probably be a different story with that blue but just a couple small 1/4" pieces would do the trick without being super fugly.
