rick
Now that I'm up to speed with photobucket, thought I'd share some mods I've done that I've not seen. And let me apologise in advance for one accidental selfie I like the look of the tank, but I've never had so much trouble keeping a tank bag from teeter tottering all over the place. So i did this. At the back I stitched the a small bit of strap to a wider piece and bolted that wide piece to the tank trim. There's a big hole for the seat bumper to slide thru and the strap is also secured with the bracket over the battery. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/rashapir/IMG_1211_zps411b92c2.jpg At the front, I bought some suction cup straps that Nelson Rigg sells. They don't have to be very tight and they grab the yamaha logo like they were put there just for this. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/rashapir/IMG_1228_zps074d2750.jpg Can't imagine not knowing what the charge system is doing, so a small LED voltmeter tied into the accessory plug under the left side. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/rashapir/IMG_1206_zps163268e9.jpg I'm a believer in keeping batteries charged. With my heated gear having BMW plugs, a Powerlet plug was also on the list. The bracket is just a 1/4" thick piece of plastic painted black. It's wired straight to the battery and fused of course. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/rashapir/Powerlet_zps0a56021e.jpg And to keep from getting too lost or just forgetting what i look like in my old age, lol, the GPS. With the RAM set-up, I can unplug and move that same GPS to my Aprilia's stem mount or to a ball I've mounted in my car. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/rashapir/RAM_zpsbde1f940.jpg After riding behind fairings for the last, uh, let's see, it was the 70s - anyway, this is my 1st naked bike in a while. So I also added Barkbuster Storms for the hands and will add an MRA double bubble screen when they're available. I'm afraid the next add-on will be a cover as it'll be winter here soon enough

rick
sorry, thought that's what i did. Do you only see the links? I see picts not the links, both at home and here at work. This is a Mac Pro I'm on now. The OS is a bit old, but not ancient. I'll have a look later on one of the Windoze computers

rick
thanks, I'm still not all that happy with the cheapo clamps from home despot that I used for the Powerlet piece. But they work and, best of all, inexpensive. Haven't found anything to replace them with quite yet. I've found some very nice clamps that would work just fine, but they would cost well more than the rest of the set-up and that's just hard on my, erm, frugal nature. That silver throttle link really does stick out like a sore thumb. Someone (can't remember if here or of the other, echem, forums) painted it black and hid it behind a piece of plastic. Thankfully, it can't be seen from the seat. The voltmeter looked great while taking that pict and standing next to the bike. But once riding, I discovered it was way too low, too close and too vertical to actually see the dang thing. I wound up bending a 1/6" thick piece of aluminum angle to point it up some. I'm thinking once I have a wind screen in place, I'll find a place inside, maybe stickied to the mount bracket.
