Excellent! I'm still awaiting parts ordered over two weeks ago. Apparently, clutch fibers and plates are not presently available in the U.S.

I ordered the clutch kit, this kit includes all friction plates and also  includes alternate clutch plates that may be required to achieve the correct assembled clutch pack width. It also includes the clutch  cover gasket.

Already install it?  :) Please do update once everything is install :)  Cant wait to see the end result and I will probably do that same mod as well..

Yes, it is installed, pretty straight forward. I took a lot of pictures and will be posting a detailed write up sometime this week.

I have not had a chance to ride it yet, So far the initial observations are lighter clutch pull at the lever and it seems to go into gear from neutral with much less (almost no) clunk like the stock clutch.

I purchased from

Shop MotoSport.com for all of the best deals, customer service and selection in aftermarket and OEM motorcycle parts, riding gear...

I have a parts list in the beginning of the thread?

I'm not sure what you mean by V1 or V2? For the R7 parts it only lists 2022 model.

Oh.. I mean your MT07 version? V1 is from 2014-2017, V2 is 2018-2020, V3 is 2021- current.

Ok, noted on the part :)

Mine is an FZ-07 2016 V1.

These parts cross reference across the model line, V1 and V2

The motor, called a a CP 2 by Yamaha, hasn't changed since its introduction. Hard engine parts are interchangeable across all model years of the FZ/MT 07 and the new R7.

Ed, I ordered from Motosport as well. They've pissed me off less than a bunch of other options for OEM parts, and since I order enough (minimum of $79 for me) each time, free shipping.

Can anyone print out the part numbers?

The picture on the first page is really blurry for me.

I’ll repost them.

Right on man. Thank you for this thread. I have been wondering if the R7 slipper would fit since it was released.

Yesterday I laid out the parts to convert a stock 07 clutch to an R7 slipper clutch. All I'm missing is a new clutch pack (fibers and plates), which is now back-ordered until at least March 18. The parts schematic seems clear enough that assembly should be straight-forward. The only info I'm missing is the torque to put on the three spring bolts; Ed did you find an R7 torque figure or just use the torque from the stock clutch (spring bolts appear to be the same so I'd use the same torque absent other info).  Only three springs; no wonder the clutch action is so light.

I got the torque from the R7 Service manual. Clutch Boss Nut is 70-ft.lbs, the Clutch Spring Bolts are 7.4-ft.lbs.

Thanks! Boss nut is the same part, so same torque. Interesting, however, that spring bolts are 7.4 rather than the 07's 5.9; the bolts appear to be identical.

What is the torque setting for the three clutch spring bolts, was the question. In other words, snug but use a small wrench if not using a torque wrench.😃

Here are my pictures and notes for the installation of the R7 Slipper Clutch.

PART ONE - REMOVAL

Drain the oil and coolant.

IMG-9953.thumb.jpg.b296a61815f8496888ac6f0339c5869e.jpg

Then remove the water pump. I tied mine to the header pipes with a small bungee to keep it out of my way.

Notes: Be careful with the pump o-ring. Mine was securely in place so I just left it alone. Also my coolant has only 3K miles, so I drained it into a clean container to reuse it.

Remove the Clutch Cover

Note that the last friction plate is offset one notch from the rest of the stack. The R7 Slipper will also have the last friction plate offset like this.

Pressure Plate, springs and clutch plates removed.

IMG-9962.thumb.jpg.7e53a46d300608e175597a4f984ae947.jpg

lift the locking dimple on the nut for the clutch boss.

IMG-9961.thumb.jpg.8bdc6073bfdf822b1881587275633ea4.jpg

Remove the boss nut, I used an impact gun. Otherwise you need a clutch holding tool, or place the trans in 6th gear and hold down on the rear brake to loosen the nut.

IMG-9964.thumb.jpg.3388a546bdb773dc619c75f04659d6b1.jpg

Remove beveled washer, note the side that has OUT stamped on it, faces you.

IMG-9963.thumb.jpg.fc27d3ac342a3a0b3321bb7e6408ae0c.jpg

Remove second washer and then the clutch boss.

IMG-9968.thumb.jpg.9a9665038896571d60dec0df23be99b6.jpg

Make sure to remove the spacer from the rear of the clutch boss, it will most likely stick to the back of the clutch boss when removed.

That is the Clutch Boss Nut, it is staked after installation to lock it in place. Best practice is to use a new one.

I forget where I purchased the service manual, but you can get it from here

I was looking up the part numbers and I just wanted to clarify something before I enter my order.

you show plate clutch 2  (5VY-16325-00-00 ) which appears to be an individual plate.

Shouldn’t it be the friction plate kit BEB-W001M-00-00 with the full set of plates?

Thanks for this. Have you ever had a slipper clutch of any kind in one of these engines? Curious to see how R7 version performs compared to an aftermarket.
