Long story short I ordered the wrong seat concepts kit, and I like the new seat shape more anyway. It would be sweet if I could just snag a 17+ pan and go that route. You will definitely need new tank plastics and maybe the plastics that are under the seat. I do not know if you will have to fabricate new attach points. The redesign came in '18 when they switched from the FZ to the MT name in the States. If they sold you that cover as a '17 then they had it listed wrong.
