Mid 70's hp is a good number for a supersport tune on these things. After much ($) = fiddling, dyno tIime, u4.4 and monkeying around I got mine to 78 in similar spec w/o going inside with a port, cams, tb's etc.  The other thing is they come outta corners hard due to midrange power characteristics compared to Suzuki, makes em harder to catch as you have to power up sooner on the zook.

@Evill_Ed, @mossrider, riddle me this, how tight do you run your exhaust & intake valves? I used to shim under bucket 3 times a year on '80s ujm's (and synch carbs) because running them in spec but really tight was a seat of the pants improve.

I'm thinking haves some fun this summer, run the intakes within 15% & exhaust 20% (of tight side of clearance spec) but no tighter, unless you guys take it to the edge?

Somebody please red flag me if this cp2 motor needs more respect?

I stayed sloppy side. When things heat up they tighten up.

I love it. It’s everything I expected. I remember you describing it to me a few years ago, it had been on my list since then.

i agree with the general consensus that it’s worth every penny.

i love the intake sound and the engine just pulls right up to red line, it’s really noticeable on the long front straightaway.

I haven’t had to adjust valve yet. Like Moss, I tend to go to the looser side of the spec. An old race engine builder I knew used to say “leave em a little noisy and it’ll fly”

works for me.

I agree, I love my set-up also. I unfortunately can't get to really wring it out at Hallett, end of front straight 100 4th. gear, brake. I managed to get out the weekend before for just the 1 day. It was awesome.

It seem NJMSP are putting a lot of time, effort, and money into the track. I wish our local track would do the same, but they don't get big associations running there.

Hey @Evill_Ed did you happen to see a guy with a RC-51 and a speed-triple in the pits?

Thanks for the pictures, I'm glad you got the spring into trackday's going for this year.

Hey fzar, the gentleman with the RC-51 and Speed triple was pitted next to me. I had actually grabbed and secured his pop up canopy when the wind took it while he was on the track. We spoke briefly about it when he came in.
