After adding a horde power intake to my existing Akra Ti exhaust during the off season, and getting an appropriate reflash from 2WDW, my exhaust is now noticeably 50% louder at all RPMs. The bike has spent the summer hibernating in the climate controlled garage so I don't believe it suffered any decay to the baffling in the off season. I'm not the only one who noticed that it's louder so I don't think it's just me. Is this expected behavior with a hordpower install or should I be looking for another source for the increase in volume? DewMan Just shut up and ride. The induction noise is noticeably louder- it actually sounds pretty cool (to me). After the install, I was street riding with my wife, and she could hear me laughing (through our coms) when I "got on it". She thought I was laughing at her for some reason? klx678 Posted November 27, 2020 Share Posted November 27, 2020 It isn't your exhaust. It is the intake roar. Especially noticeable when riding, with it right under your crotch. I had that happen when I pulled the lid off my KLX650, intake roar was so bad and loud I only went a 1/2 block, turned around and put it back on. 2 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The sound is louder but not annoyingly loud. If you think the Akra Ti isn't quite loud enough for you, I highly suggest a hordpower intake. klx678 Posted November 27, 2020 Share Posted November 27, 2020 The beauty of the noise from the intake is it isn't really perceived by pedestrians and the neighbors, as loud exhaust. It probably is nearly not noticeable to them due to the sound diffusion being totally different from that of an exhaust system. You like it, the added volume for you, they don't really notice.
