Off season Covid shenanigans

Well a bizarre 2020 is fast coming to a close but that just means next season is just around the corner.

I piled up the last 5 seasons assemblage of toys for it's new owner, arriving in the great white north from Birmingham on Sunday. (We had snow today) I spent a day freshening it up a bit for it's journey. Farewell old friend.

And drug this home for something to do over the winter. One of its owners 2 RC-51's. This one was raced years ago and has sat idle and neglected in the back corner of the garage for 10 years. It will be put back on the road in street legal trim so it's owner and his son can ride them together on weekends.

Aside from this and a few other short term projects you just never know what will roll outta the shop come spring 😉

A few project start up notes;

*The shop has never been this empty or clean for that matter. Sad really. IMG_20201018_181748159.thumb.jpg.02722822ebf1ce18b98688d5dd958b88.jpg

*This is that project that everyone fears, the dreaded "I started taking it apart for no particular reason 10 years ago and it ran when I parked it now I need help". Apparently I can't refuse 4 boxes of challenge... IMG_20201017_194411519.thumb.jpg.24f616cdce763539bd46a1c7150cf182.jpg

I'm going in.....

I've forgotten what my garage floor looks like it's so long since it's been empty enough to see it. I'm jealous.I'm actually considering moving just so I can have more garage space. I'm looking for a minimum 3 bay garage house in an area that won't b*tch if I want to leave a 10ft box truck in my driveway full time. Current location's zoning won't allow it *1st world problems*

Eww a box job..... never fun. Good luck. ✌️

Yah.  Move to the country.  That's where I'm at and all my buddies keep their stuff in my backyard.

Yep. Once work decides whether full time work from home will continue after Covid (good possibility) I'll decide where to move.

Your posts make me smile because I've "been there".... I recently regretted a project I took on for a friend. It turned out well (I got paid), but my friend had way too much "sentimental value" for a 30 year-old project  bike. In the end, we were both happy...... (I still felt a little guilty though) -

No.

The country sucks. Everyone stay away. It's not as empty and quiet and you think, and nobody is buying up old farms and filling the land with patio homes :( You're an hour from anything. It's lonely. There's nothing to do.

Stay out!

Me thinks you just don't want everyone moving into your neck of nowhere? 😁

Set urself afire once in a while or run the air chisel after midnight and people will stay away naturally. Ask me how I know...

You should coat that floor with some nice epoxy while its empty. I just finished mine and i think its a worthwhile investment if youre spending time out there, which you do. Just a thought sir!

I've also heard that wearing racing leathers while plowing your driveway helps keep folks away as well.

Only if you're making a lot of "vroom-vroom!" and power sliding noises while you do so. 😁

If there was country close enough around, I'd probably move.  The worse my addiction to two wheels gets, and the more my disdain for tourists grows...the more I want out of this area.

My lack of room in my garage and 2+ hour drive from the track kept me from jumping on Moss' bike above that was for sale.  First world problems...
