I love my A* GP Pro's but they have been replaced with a model that neither looks good, fits nor functions as well. Also in Alpine Stars I have to order 3 sizes over, I wear a XXXL, sheesh. So my search continues...

I like most Held gloves and the higher end Cortech work ok.

I guess it really depends on fit to me and that requires I put them on. I'm always wearing someone else's stinky gloves at the track to see what's what. And when I can make it to the annual International Motorcycle Show every couple years, I try em on till I find what I want and buy 2 or 3 pairs of the damn things.

I too was searching for the "perfect glove".... I'm usually disappointed with the "A-stars" offerings as well. I happened to run into a rep for "Heroic" @ the IMS last winter. He's pretty small-time, but makes really nice custom leathers as well. I ended up buying a size 14, which is comparable to a XXXL (not sure what "jockey- sized" riders are buying gloves these days?) I wear a XXL in A-Stars..... Even the size 14 Heroic, are slightly tight? I hoped they would break-in with use, but haven't? Next time I'm on-track, I'm going to soak them in water, and ride with them. That should allow them to stretch-to-fit my paws. Give them a look. He's trying to get them out there for coaches/trackday riders. Great guy to deal with-

Oh man, I should not be allowed to shop online unattended. Just last week I bought some Racer 'Sprint' which I absolutely love...now for reasons unknown Ive just ordered Dainese '4-Stroke 2'. I refuse to hold myself accountable for this purchase, therefore I blame you guys.

Looking for the best street motorcycle gloves with CE armor? Then read our internet's most-detailed review of the Dainese 4 Stroke 2...

I would love to hear your review on the 4 strokes when you get a chance to put some miles on them.

anyone know where to get the Five SF1 gloves?

sportbiketrackgear.com has them listed but out of stock in every size. All other retailers are from overseas.

What size? Fortnine has small and xl, gpbikes has large available. Your local distributor will probably be able to order them in as well

Check out Held Rodney gloves.  They have Kangaroo palms, ventilated backs, velcro wrist bands and knuckle protection, plus they're shorties.  They're my favorite summer street gloves.

Looks like a bunch of dealers in Canada (Victoria and Vancouver) guess I’ll wait till the boarder opens up again and go try them on in person

Nice. Those have some solid reviews.

I have a pair of Racer r-safe with kangaroo palms, apparently very tough stuff. I wish more gloves utilized this.

**Update on Racer Sprint and Dainese 4-Stroke 2 gloves. Put a only a few hours into each pair on 30C+ days. Racer's definitely provide better airflow and due to heavily vented knuckles and have a softer perforated top layer and softer thinner palm leather which offers better feel with the controls. Dainese need a little more working in due to their thicker construction all around and even though they have zero ventilation my mitts still didnt get overheated and contact feel was still very good.

The usual impeccable build quality on both with no funky cuts or loose threads inside or out. Of course its the usual compromises for intended uses and personal requirements. Racer wins it hands down for hot riding, and of course Dainese if youre looking for some additional safety features and thicker materials. I love them both equally.

Check out reviews for additions details.

Mr. puss:

I ended up buying the 4 stroke 2 gloves but the sizing was off. The back of the hand area was too wide and all around it was bigger. To anyone buying the glove: size down. While trying them on, the leather is thick and it does take a while to break them in.

my line up of gloves include:

100% cognito

Five SF3

Dainese X-Strike

Dainese Steel pro in

Summary of the gloves:

100% Cognito- love the bright color. Feels like not wearing anything at all. Great feel. Little bit of knuckle protection. Downside is that there is 0 sliding protection.

SF3- THE BEST budget glove on the market! I bought and returned many different “budget” short cuff street gloves including joe rockets, icon, and alpinestars. The SF3 has Actual leather that is supple, great ventilation, extra panels for added durability, great ventilation (knuckle protectors are air ducts), mesh areas for comfort/ ventilation, quality slider protection pieces, excellent Velcro design, tab to help put on glove. All of this for $35. Not sure if I found a deal or that is the retail of these gloves. Quality of these are easily $90+

Xstrike: least favorite glove of the bunch. No real stand out features here. Not a fan of the suede palm. Now that they are broken in, the glove feels too wide and fat in the fingers and palm. Pro are kind of the knuckle protection, the look and easy to take off/ put on

steel pro: favorite all around. Quality build. Great feel for controls. Excellent protection. I like putting my jacket over my glove (more subtle for street riding). Good fit after I sized down. Only complaints might be that they don’t ventilate. And hard to take off after riding

for the future:

would like to try some models from Racer, RS Taichi, Held and the Five SF1. I need more sets of hands
