Lower cam chain sprocket to hot or not?

Not sure if this is how they put the sprocket on or gets this color during hardening or if the cam chain is too tight.

That's from the hardening/tempering process to give it a long lasting surface to interface with the chain. The bluing near the gear teeth is a sign of the temps reached to temper the teeth so they wouldn't be brittle after hardening.

What shinyribs said.  Heres some other ones to make you feel better. (right one is fz09)

Cam chain sprocket looks to be machined into the crank, thats kinda cool. 🙃
