I really pissed off the NC700X owners on Advrider.

Those guys are loyal as heck to the NC700X. Gotta give em credit. I actually owned one for Two months and liked it, but it wasn't my cup of tea. Sold it to someone who absolutely loves it though.

what were the major differences between the fz07 and the nc700x? i was considering it and the sv650.

I think it had like 45 hp. Just not enough on the open road out west. They just raised the speed limit here in Idaho to 80 MPH and while the bike will do 80, it ain't exactly pretty. I like to be able to twist the throttle and take off like a rocket to pass slow cars in the twisties. To me, power is actually a safety feature.
 
 
It actually did handle very well and the MPG was freakin crazy. Decent power down low in the RPMS.

That's exactly why I am choosing the fz over the nc700, I was also looking at. And the fz, giving it's weight/power, gives you some extremely decent mpg. How is the fz at passing large trucks on 2 lane roads?
