The Pioneer
I have a 2017 FZ-07 and the chain guard is a little too short which allows fresh lube to sling up on the bike. I noticed the newer 2019 MT-07's have a longer chain guard to fix this. Does anyone know if the 2019 MT-07 chain guard will fit on a 2017 FZ-07? I have not physically tried it myself but I'd bet it does. Comparing the 2 side by side, the mounting points appear identical. The swinger part #'s are identical, the guard #'s are, of course, different. 2017 FZ, 2019 MT, Do it, be the first.

Premium Member norcal616 Posted March 10, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted March 10, 2020 Its probably the same part, just not cut as short as the early model years... just one less step in production is what I see... 2015 fz-07- Hordpower Edition...2015 fj-09- 120whp- Graves Exhaust w/Woolich Race Kit- tuned by 2WDW
mt7fan
I have a 2016-MT07, and the longer chain guard fits perfectly. 3

mt7fan
I can't ride my bike until june (had a surgery on shoulder), and I have also newly installed an automatic chain lube system. So can't say what effect of the mere chain quard has.
