Hey everyone.

Happy new year!  Thought i'd say hi.  Originally from Portsmouth in the UK, now living just outside Philly, PA.  Been here about 5 years.  Bought a brand new MT07 back in 2018 and been loving it ever since.  My first bike in the US, and was my first bike in 10 years... gave up my VFR400 NC30 back in 1998 as my wife at the time didn't like me riding.  Well, she's long gone :)

Started tinkering with the bike and found this forum.  .  Mainly made cosmetic and quality of life upgrades so far, but looking forward to picking up some good tips and suggestions for performance upgrades like exhaust, filter, ECU flash, etc.

Welcome! Don't upgrade ... someone on the back will only slow you down so stay single. 😅

Seriously, though, I recommend just un snorkeling, a pipe that you think sounds good and a flash tune to match if you're not going to race it. You can do a cheap suspension upgrade or an expensive one, your choice. I don't race so my cheap upgrade works fine for me. Nothing much is really going to make this bike go 'a lot' faster on the street so save yourself the money and headache and keep it simple. Heck, she's fast from the factory to begin with. Just my 2 C worth.

Thanks Beemer.  Yeah, a quick read on here i think i've drawn up a short list of Akro Ti, Snorkel removal and ECU flash.  I use the bike for commuting and weekend riding... i think i'm past the track warrior stage of my life, at least on two wheels :)

My last bike over ten years ago was only a 400, so I scared myself a couple of times on the MT when i first started riding it.  I think i've got her tamed well enough now but agree wholeheartedly it's more than enough bike for me right now.

VFR400 NC30

Because those VFR's were no joke. The handling was fantastic and 1st. gear.... jeez 60+ MPH before shifting, almost breaking the national speed limit in first.  The best thing that ever happened to Britain and Ireland were the ridiculous insurance and licensing that Japan also had, and we ended up importing a whole load of these fantastic machines.

Think about all the FZR-400's, ZXR-400's, VFR-400's, RVF-400's GSXR 250's, NSR 50-80-125-250- strokers, RG-50-80-125-250's uuuggghh total bike porn, not to mind we got the Aprilia RS-125, okay it was powered by a Suzuki motor, but Man was it fast. Ahh well those times have passed me by for now. Ohh yeah, sorry about the rant. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase and your move. @Karlos
