I sent him a message but thought I would as while waiting. Thanks 👍

I get ya, I'm sure he's busy with the upcoming race season bearing in with its death grip of (I NEED THIS NOW) not next week, NOW.

Here’s a comparison of the thickness difference Of stock vs. APF01A1694-59FD-43C3-9DC2-4E918C4D49B3.thumb.jpeg.46ae51368179646f261f9f1e3483e258.jpeg

Can anyone comment on needing longer bolt/bolts when installing the Robem Linear Linkage? Can I assume the extra length is needed like the AP link?

I use 7075 and others are using 6061.  You can use the stock bolts.  Look at my thread on the bike for my wife, it’s installed with stock fasteners on that bike.  I do also stock titanium if you’re feeling fancy 😬

Sorry I was in the barn working on a couple things.

5 motors apart at the moment and all the parts arrived from Millennium all at the same time 😅

Easiest way to get me on the weekends in by text.  My phone is in the shop with me and I check it periodically.  My phone number is on the website.  Just don’t abuse it. 😬

How about a floor jack with a piece of wood under the oil pan? That’s what I am going to do on my deck lift.

I just use a rear stand and bottle jack under the pan.  A standard motorcycle jack will also work.

Do you use the bottle jack to take all the weight off the rear stand or just some of it?

You have to support the bike by the oil pan.  Removing the shock the bike tries to fold in on itself.  That’s that issue with the motor being a stressed member on the FZ.

I’ll toss together a how-to on my blog and link it.

You can support the bike anywhere on the frame, not just the oil pan.  If you have fixed rear pegs, that's a common place to support bikes when working on the rear suspension.  In fact, they make stands for that purpose.  I know Spatt understands this, just want to be clear.

Here is how I supported the rear part of the bike when I changed the shock and link.  I used my standard rear stand to get the rear of the bike in the air.  Then I lowered the bike onto the Jack stands as shown.

I just bought 2 scissor stand to put one under each foot peg. I have the woodcraft pegs so they are fixed. I think I'm gonna slide a block of wood or something under the oil pan as well.

It seems to exhaust is in the way of the bolt that mounts to the lower part of the link so I guess I'm gonna have to remove my muffler. I didn't here anyone mention that did you guys have to remove your exhaust as well?

I did not have to remove the stock exhaust, but it would have helped with ease of access.

If you have plans to use the foot pegs, don't bother with the oil pan support.  The oil pan really is not the best place to support the bike for working on for a number of reasons.

The stock exhaust look like it still give room to access the bolt. There a bracket on the yoshi exhaust the covers iti might have to remove the muffler and that bracket
