00RAH
You can do it! Have fun with it! The best tip i have is 'guide coating' or 'trace coating' basically you mist your panel with a very fine dust of paint. Let it dry then 'clean' it off with fine sandpaper. Once all the 'dirt' guide paint is off, then all surfaces are ready for your base coat. Just try not to inhale too many fumes. Stand up wind and wear a mask. Wear gloves Here's a neat video about Trace coating aka guide coating https://youtu.be/Ni2Y3vMtUSU Edited September 18, 2022 by 00RAH
ElGonzales
I switched back from progressive to original linear fork springs and I wanted to cut my fork spacers on my little lathe but I was to dumb. I achieved nothing but a scratch and a lot of squeaking. So I used my hacksaw what went out quite exactly and planned the cuts with the lathe. Now my negative rider sag of the fork has increased from 20 to 38 mm. Theoretically, as much as I understand until now, this should be more within the OK-range. I am waiting for a dry day to do a test ride.

Over the weekend took it out on the interstate for the first time. Speed limit was 65, got to 60 mph and car in front of me didn't speed up any more. But will say when hitting 60 the wind was hitting me hard, and the wind was pushing my head side to side 1 2022 Yamaha MT-07 Cyan Storm, 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 [VN2000A], 1997 Yamaha YZF600R - Thundercat [project]

Not a lot of coverage from my shoulders up but the difference is a bit noticeable. imherefortheride
Penske shock is on! I didn't have a frame stand, so I suspended the subframe with two ladders, a 2x4, and two tie-downs. Easy peasy!

A decent aftermarket shock is the single best mod you can make to this bike I think. What length did you set it at? balkor2
just passed the 1k (1041??) on Thanksgiving and gave her a bath. Had to use Dish Soap for the chain grease on the rear wheel. Thought I did a good job with the chain maintenance ... is it normal to have a grease on the wheel? (not large quantity per spot, just large number of tiny spots) 2 2022 Yamaha MT-07 Cyan Storm, 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 [VN2000A], 1997 Yamaha YZF600R - Thundercat [project]

I really didn't notice until I actually started wiping the rim. Which then made me think "Did I do it wrong?(chain maintenance)" Edited November 28, 2022 by balkor2 typo 1 2022 Yamaha MT-07 Cyan Storm, 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 [VN2000A], 1997 Yamaha YZF600R - Thundercat [project]
Premium Member bornagainbiker Posted November 28, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted November 28, 2022 Put fuel stabilizer in the tank, plugged the intake and exhaust openings, took the battery out and put it in the basement, right next to the trickle charger--in other words--put my bike to bed for the winter. I get why some people have to put the bike up for the winter, ie: super snowy areas but I can’t imagine ever having to put it up ALL winter. Even when it’s super shite outside, I’ll wait for a hour or 2 window of not so shite and get out and put as many miles on as I can when ever I can…. I feel bad for those who can’t. OT: Did a oil change while I was waiting for my new rear tire (road 6) to get mounted. Ment to clean the air filter and pull the snorkel too but got distracted and lost track of time. Next rain I’m pulling the ecu and sending it out to 2WDW. Pretty excited about that

It's not raspy AT ALL which I'm really excited about. There are some issues I had with the fit, finish and fitment, but it does sound awesome. I have pics and a video that I'll make a separate post about. Since we are a few years down the road, I have the 2016 FZ07, and was wondering if you know if DEVIL has corrected the fitment issues with this exhaust system? Thanks. Migyver
Tail tidy on my '18. Flowing LEDs front and back. Zephyr
Staying with the lights theme. Replaced my old Cyclops headlight with the new 10k lumen model and installed a bright white led mini running light while I had things open. Headlight was fantastic this morning being able to see much better driving in the dark and I really like the "ultra" option to have both low and high beams on when "hi" beam is active. FYI - Previous Cyclops led had one led cut out on low beam making it a bit dim to ride at night, but not impossible.
Migyver
Font signals changed as well (I like these since they have the DRL when the signal is off). Anyone know the bulb type in the headlight running lights (the one on either side of the headlight)? I'd like to swap them out for LED since everything else is LED. It's more fun naked!!
