That's a good start.

There's just a couple things left to have the world greatest hooner bike. A set of Web cams, a ported head by JD Hord or Zoran at TWF and some bored throttle bodies. You're under 2 grand away. Thing would slaughter tards around town, drop litre bikes for dead stoplight to stoplight, beat down 600's on a crooked road, loft the front with a thought at any speed and, make you public enemy #1 with five-oh.

Thanks to @mossrider this is looking like a go this winter. This awesome forum has the uncanny ability to empty my wallet and you all are not helping. I should have bought a terd of a bike with the only potential being a good commuter...

Has anyone found a pre filter that fits over the Hord air filter? I did a little searching to no avail but would like to pick one up. I thought I remembered someone had one. Part # or link to product would be very helpful.

Yes, there is, (I have one)..... I don't remember the part#? The Hord airbox uses a standard K&N filter (don't rememberer that part# either). You can cross reference the prefilter, with the air filter on the K&N website. If I remember right, I think I had to cut a small hole in the prefilter to get it to fit right. I think there was some interference with the Hordpower mounting bracket. Not a big deal, it stayed in place with only a minor modification-

Is this what you're looking for? I don't personally have one, but it's the one I have bookmarked for when I do the upgrade (hopefully next year). It's been said to fit the Hordpower perfectly.

just my two cents but instead of the hord power box, if you just put two KN filters on the throtle bodies wouldnt it yeld similar or same results? and comparing it to a DNA filter plus DNA air filter Lid would the differences be that different?

Yes, but... The hordpower airbox actually has tuned intake track lengths for optimal power gains across the whole range.

I've had my Hordpower airbox + Akrapovic + dyno-tuned PCV5 since mid-2016. +30k miles. So long as you are not following dust on a dirt road, it does not need a pre-filter. Even in torrential rain, its fine & no problems.

Just clean & re-oil when the K&N loses its color to dust. I've had to clean mine once so far.

Good luck!

Had a dna filter + box lid with after market exhaust and reflash = 68.5 hp

Not a Hord box but similar with standard box removed and reflash to suit = 74.75 hp.

Night and day difference, if you can get the Hord box that’s the easiest route to go but to get one to the UK was going to come in about 450 US dollars by the time shipping, import duty and VAT are added, I would imagine it’s likely to be fairly similar anywhere in Europe.

i think i will try to build a box similar to yours by the dyno numbers its a night and day difference, and about your feeling when driving can you report that also?

thats is wheel horse power? damm crazy 😉

Bike runs real good, feels strong and pulls hard from almost any revs.

iam thinking of doing what you have done but cutting  the top of a stock air box

so that i dont leave rhe filter so exposed because of the police, and the effect should be the same

Not sure how that would work out but you won’t know until you try, the police where you are would be interested in your air filter !

That makes me want to join the hordpower gain train!

I'm not really sure why anyone other than racers (rule restrictions) would NOT have this intake on their bike??? It does EVERYTHING better than OEM..... The "nah-sayers" claim you can make a similar intake for less. Why would you? Hord has done ALL the R&D, and is willing to sell it to us at a VERY reasonable price. This intake is the BEST $300 you can spend on your "07"- period. Prove me wrong-

I agree with you, if I lived your side of the pond I’d have happily spent 299 dollars.

If I can make this for resale (retail), it'll be LESS than $250, and make more power :)
