I don’t want to be done..... If I go much further, I think I’ll have reliability issues. I might powder coat my wheels eventually. Mechanically, I’m done modding <img src=">. Take the pledge with me!!! <img src=">

I am in the same position. I have her torn apart again doing the braided brake lines and EBC HH pads, 520 sprockets and chain and slipper clutch. And... powder coating the wheels white. So I take the pledge once this is done. You will have to be my accountability partner 🤑

Oh no! There's no quitters in this thread @cornerslider & @1tondriver . This is no place for common sense and restraint. You fools need to be more like @norcal616 sweaty palmed and drooling, ready to mortgage his family's future...or @Evill_Ed trembling as he sticks his licked fingers into the captain crunch box to get the crumbs...Any pacts are to be made in back alleys with parts dealers, buy now, figure it out later, ha ha.

Now that made my night and made me laugh out loud! 😂

So sad but so true

Spent the day in the shop cleaning it up a bit for an upcoming BLR team meeting and build day. The whole crew is coming and bringing their bikes to work on. Did a little work on the bike but most importantly I made a fresh batch of the original sin, Everclear apple pie moonshine,

IMG_20191224_221101.thumb.jpg.930a44188e9fd1e4c63f9e87bd777612.jpg

Canned a bunch of it for gifts. Will be testing a new chilli recipe too. Good times. Hopefully there will be no recorded evidence of the event. 🤕

Clean-up in isle 4! Workin on the the subframe and random stuff today.

IMG_20191228_103319.thumb.jpg.adc0e7ca8c6e235f3198c00472043f7d.jpg

New sub saves almost exactly 6lbs. And that's from up high and as far from cg as you can get, woot!

IMG_20191228_101902.thumb.jpg.5ae28c517b005b71f667105276e86aef.jpg

This and the 4.8lbs of unsprung rotational savings in the rear should really be noticable on track. A performance boost w/o any penalty to reliability, plus better braking, better acceleration, better transitioning and better suspension action.

Mock up and battery box refit,

Wiring is such a pita. I'm gonna invent a blue tooth wire harness so everything just works off your phone when you board the bike. Sensons, ECU, stator, lights, everything Bluetooth or wireless- wifi, whatever. I could querie it from my tablet to chase down any problems, sheesh. Never mind, way over my pay grade. Back to the Road Runner cartoon.

Nice!  @mossrider How does that subframe attach?

- Paul

Easy-peazy.

Measure the top frame rail before you cut it so you can retain your mount spacing for the seatpan. Next sawzall the loop off and clean up the cuts. The 2 lower mounts use small bolts through existing holes punched the rest of the way through the frame then threaded into bungs welded on the ends of the subframe lower arms.

The 2 upper tubes slide into the cut frame rails and are bolted/pinned in place to set the mount spacing exactly as you want it.

You can fab a new battery box or modify the original like I did.

wouldnt be too difficult really, you'd need an arduino of some sort, and a spare wire from each sensor going into a pcb, with a bus lin heading into the main computer........ hmmmm

maybe i could work on mapping all of that out.,...
what sensors would you need? would require a bunch of splicing but more probable than youd expect

ATGATT... ATTATT, two acronyms I live by.

Not me, I'm tapping out on this one. Sounded like a good idea until I said it. I hate wiring and anything electrical. More power to you but I wouldn't even know where to start. I was dreaming about no wires, anywhere, ever, lol. I'm in over my head by the time I crawl outta the sack every day.

6 pounds is a good savings from a part that's not all that big.  And light wheels are almost a requirement for a competitive bike!

My brother and I built the shop a few years ago. That's him in the pic. Insurance company endorsed the wardens decision to move me out of the attached garage. Best intervention ever.

Hers has floor heat, mine 240V electric.  This one is 30x30x9 with oversize 10x8 doors which is nice. Of course I wish it was bigger but I'm lucky I have what I do. Hers is 24x24 and completely finished including a wet wall so it could be easilly converted into a in-law suite with private entry. We built the house on a heated slab with no steps to be handicap accessable.

You can never trust your brother, lol. He just sent me this pic from last year's MotoAmerica round at Pittsburgh. At the start of our races it seemed I was always up to my arse is alligators trying to get ready with no help. My rider was off doing whatever the hell riders do. It turns out my brother was off doing what he does...

Shameless.

We actually shared the first couple pit stalls near start/finish with other race classes and the ladies hung around when not busy.

Good times!
