Been off the grid.  Lol.  I've been busy at work, but my track bike is almost ready.  Meanwhile, I picked up a new street bike since my fz07 is full track duty now.

Going to NYST June 21st.  Yeah!  :)

Bike should be mostly ready.  I have a new tow vehicle.  Actually did quite well picking up the XSR.  Race wets are ready.

Has anyone seen something like this done?  I don't use tire warmers, so this should work out nicely with the standard kick stand removed from the bike.

Made it to the track.  Bike will be all red for 2020 once my fresh air respirator arrives.  Been on back order for 2 months.

All went well.  I like the new riding position.   The custom air box pulls strong though it's not ram air yet.  The stacks are shorter than last year per secret talks with Moss.   :) Still running the Hordpower map.  Thumb brake works,  but I would like more leverage so I will be changing it up.  Should be simple enough to do.

Still no leaks in the fuel tank except if I fill too high it will siphon out through the vent.  I missed my last session because this happened.  Any suggestions for an anti-siphon valve to use??  Thanks ahead of time.

The white is just gel coat.  It will be painted red soon.

just read the thread, brilliant work!!!
Are you still satisfied with your build?
Do planing to improve during Winter?
Or is there anything to improve? 😉

based on the feedback of my riders, they complain that the tank is too high,
I will change the tank and airbox for the next season.
when I remember correct, you have build a RAM-AIR-box.
why you were not staying with that?

Thanks!

I need to fabricate the ram-air setup for the new air box.  And paint the bike.  That's the plan for this winter.

Most of this winter I have been working on some drag race mods for my street ridden XSR700.   I have some close friends that drag race cars, so I plan on spending most of my racing time at the drag strip in 2021.   But will still attend NYST as much as possible.   It's tough having two bikes to make time for.  Lol

I want to see more of that Factory Five build! If I ever have a house with a garage building a FF Roadster or Type 65 Coupe will be my first project car. I have lusted over them for years now.

That build has gone no where for several years.  If you were near Rochester,  NY, you could come by and make an offer.   I have built 2 FFR roadsters and designed and fabricated my current roadster from the ground up.  My brother and I sell a few FFR parts through our hobby business,  Vintage Performance Motorcars, Inc.

Blackout, what kind of airbox you are going to use on the drag xsr?

Also you said that you are using hords map is it on pcv or ecu?

I'm using the Hordpower airbox on my XSR700.   I'm installing a PCV with Autotune for tuning.

On my FZ07R,  I have Hordpower 's map loaded to the ECU with Flashtune.  His map has worked well with my various airboxes that I have played with on the FZ07R.

I was never happy with the vulnerability of the ecu when flashing new maps using FTECU.   You need a good wifi connection or risk bricking the computer.  This is why Brock Davidson will bring an extra ecu to the track if he wants to play around with mapping.  This is why I decided on a piggyback setup.  I looked at stand alone ECU's like Fueltech,  but got nervous about installation and initial setup.

Do you think that the hordpower airbox is going to  bring  a good advantage on the dragstrip against something like an dna air filter plus lid? I know that the dyno show good peak power with hord, but in real world?

The Hordpower airbox will absolutely be better than just adding an aftermarket filter and lid.  The reason is mostly from the shorter velocity stacks that the Hord uses.  But also the larger filter allows for more airflow.
