teebrunz
Update for anyone interested now or in the future: I was able to get someone from GPR on the phone and explained to them what was going on. I shipped them the part back (at my expense) and received it back in less than 2 weeks time. The part underneath the dial is now silver instead of black, so I imagine they took it apart and rebuilt it. I know its the same one I sent because it has the same tiny little scratch on the nub that sits in the stem bracket. All seems fine now. There's definitely still resistance at the 0 setting, which makes slow maneuvers feel a little awkward, but I take your guys word for it that that will settle. It's night and day to what I was experiencing before.
