lilneddy
My FZ 07 came with a full carbon fiber Yoshimura exhaust and I do like the sound, but at times (morning, late at night, in parking garages...) it is VERY loud. I looked at their website and Yoshimura sells a "replacement baffle". Does this exhaust come with a baffle? Should I get a replacement one? How different will it sound? Yoshi charges about $30 for the replacement, but charges close to $10 for shipping. So any impute is appreciated.
Premium Member norcal616 Posted May 24, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted May 24, 2019 If you look at the exit end if the exhaust can, you should see an anodized metal insert and not metal mesh screen( if you can easily see the metal mesh screen inside the exhaust can, it's got no baffle) Post a picture if you can for verification... 2015 fz-07- Hordpower Edition...2015 fj-09- 120whp- Graves Exhaust w/Woolich Race Kit- tuned by 2WDW
lilneddy
Well dang, I thought I looked close enough last week and did not see the anodized ring with the Yoshi inscription, but it turns out it was just covered in exhaust gunk! Its definitely in there. Looks like I will have to just pretend the bike is quieter than it is. I also have the DNA air filter mod so I know that can ramp up some of the noise through the intake. Premium Member norcal616 Posted May 25, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted May 25, 2019 Exhaust will get louder over time due to the exhaust packing breaking down- IIRC most exhaust packing is needed for replacing around 15k miles of regular useage ( reg racing use will break down packing alot quicker)... 2015 fz-07- Hordpower Edition...2015 fj-09- 120whp- Graves Exhaust w/Woolich Race Kit- tuned by 2WDW
Beemer
Parking garages amplify noises with all vehicles, not just yours and you can bet not everyone else (probably no one) is running out to modify their vehicles over that. Save your money. Beemer
