Rain Cover

Just bought this in a pinch before my trip to Georgia which is in two days. (Guaranteed same day FREE delivery) They're calling for afternoon showers/storms so I need a little something since I can't take my garage with me. (or can I?!! 💡 ⚠️)

I use a Dowco half cover as well. There's nothing worse than a soggy teabag.

Wow, that is expensive. I buy the  Nelson Rigg large from Revzilla. The customer service is great. Mine developed a tiny tear after 9 month and Nelson Rigg sent a new one for free.  We have had some heavy downpours in the last few months and its held up very well.

Thanks for the input, this will give people something to think about when shopping for a cover. I looked at those and they're nice FOR THE MONEY but they 're also cheaper for a reason. Just go back and do a comparison, you'll see that the Dowco Guardian is better made, it's waterproof instead of just water resistant, the material is heavier and will last much longer and there are other features it has that the Nelson Rigg doesn't so IMO the price is justified. Believe me, I wanted to spend less, I liked one of the half covers because it was smaller, would go on quicker, it's lighter in weight aaand less expensive but it just didn't offer the best protection. The key point is, water 'resistant' isn't what you want in a heavy downpour. Although it can do a pretty good job for the most part it isn't as good as waterproof.

I may have to move in the near future and in case I don't get a place with a garage I want a cover that is tough and waterproof if it's going to be outside everyday.

I spray mine with Scotch-guard  water repellent in the green can. I give it one coat a month. We have had many downpours in Miami in the last year.  Since I leave the Bike out in  the sun and rain I want something that will hold up. I'm sure the Dowco is better and heavier but what's the life expectancy?

+1 for Nelson Rigg.

Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women.          Fuss Life.

I got the sport. It fit's fine and it worked great. Although it didn't rain there was heavy morning dew and it kept the bike nice and dry. It's pretty heavy duty, too, so it should last quite awhile I would think.

Dude, that "morning dew" was so thick we couldn't see across the road!  😆

You're right, it might as well have rained, everything was so wet.

I did the Nelson Rigg half cover because it is light and compact so I can take it on a trip with almost no storage space taken since it can pack into the small bag.   Not the heaviest and not something to sit in the sun day after day, but a great trip cover or just in the garage to keep crap off the bike.

click here to view at Amazon, I forget where I actually got it.

Great trip cover and in the garage.

Although those are nice because they're light weight and pack small for traveling the reviews on them are that they don't last long because they're light weight material and therefore, tend to rip. Maybe one of those for trips and a heavy duty one for home.

That would make sense if you have to park the bike outside or exposed to rough conditions for sure.    I read the reviews at the time and knew, going in that it wasn't meant for longer term exposure to the sun and elements.   You need something heavy duty to deal with the sun and all.

It is perfect to put over a bike at a flat track race to keep a lot of the dust off the bike, or outside at a motel on a few nights trip, just to keep rain or dust off the bike.   The reason I did the half cover instead of a full cover.  Plus it won't rest on the pipe when on the bike.

To do something for the more open storage, a full heavy duty cover makes absolute sense and you will pay for quality - and it's worth it.

I have this same cover, but the bottom section is white. I'm super happy with mine, has held up great so far. Since I don't have a garage just covered parking, I wanted a quality cover that will last and protect my bike. Even when I have a garage, I probably won't ever use a half cover.
