That thing looks like an eye-lash. Yes, the looks leave a lot to be desired....however, the sound part of your comment, I'm not sure on that. I do agree they all sound similar, but I think it also depends on the camera/mic/video. I've never heard an aftermarket for fz07 in person. I'm sure it would be real easy to distinguish the differences in person over video.
