Hey everyone,

New rider checking in from Charlotte, NC. Been wanting to ride since I was a little kid and I finally got myself in MSF beginner class a few months back (I'm in my 30's) and then pulled the trigger on a new 2018 MT-07 on 1/12.

I've been lurking on the forum for a few weeks now and it's been an incredible resource, so thank you all for that. I've fitted an EvoTech rad guard and have a Denali Soundbomb Mini in the mail, but otherwise it's stock for now. No huge build/mod plans in the future, just learning to ride as I mention above, however I'll likely start a build thread for record keeping / tracking purposes as I make incremental changes.

I've been riding a lot in the cold (well, cold for NC anyways...), and it's been great. I'm looking forward to getting better on the bike. Thanks again for all the great info on the forum, it's been super helpful.

Welcome to the FZ/MT-07 cult errr family of eclectic but like minded people who are fans of the venerable twin.  😁

Don't let anyone tell you what mods you "have to have". Ride the bike until it tells you what YOU need to change.

And don't let anyone talk you into riding beyond your limits. If anything makes you feel uncomfortable, just don't.

But most of all Enjoy! 👍

Thanks DewMan. As far as mods go, that's exactly the plan. I think aesthetically there are a few things I'd like to clean up, but I'm in no rush and plan to take it slow and steady. My top priority right now is just seat time. I'm always aware of and thinking about not pushing too hard and riding within my limits, as I know I'll get better with time and all it takes is one dumb moment of feeling more comfortable than I should. I appreciate all the sage advice!
