I’m sure they put a lot of time into building a solid motor. Is this the revival of the RS 125’s,250’s of the mid 90’s 2-stroke era???? ( Suzuki motors) ^^^^ in the 125’s I’m sure of, the 250’s not 100%. I mean seeming as every manufacturer is trying to get in on the middleweight class and the 4 bangers aren’t as popular as they once were ( zxr 6 <$10k) might help to keep them alive in Kawasaki’s case. I’d like to see what the Moto journo’s have to say after they get to ride them, maybe it would be worth $15k??? I couldn’t afford it, new at least. Having raced 2 single pivot rear ended bikes, I can tell you that getting the rear to behave itself is a pain. Especially with a centrally weighted bike. No matter how good the rear shock is. Will it be an awesome bike ...probably. Will it have a good motor...almost certainly ( from the people that made possibly the greatest production motorbike motor EVER, with the worst valves. the RXV and SXV). Will it handle YES... with the proviso that you aren't riding where the rear end has to behave itself well. Go forth and modify my son...go forth and modify... gregjet Posted November 10, 2018 Share Posted November 10, 2018 I disagree about the shock angle. The laydown angle gives a rising rate spring with constant spring/damping ratios. I designed a suspension like this in the early 70's to do exactly that on my first CR125M when everyone was running 4" of stock shock or doing stupid moving shock lower mounts along the swingarm ( with associated swingarm bending and torsion problems. The big problem with a single pivot design is it has no anti squat and the shock is coupled to the chain AND brake torque reactions. Very hard to control the rear wheel under hard acc and braking As the motor and the springing interact, especially as soon as there is uneven surface. Food for thought, apparently the TT lightweights are its goal, is what I get from the article! Watchout kawasaki, suzuki, patton. All that for a meager $25,692 USD, (not that it'll make it here) or maybe it will?@ 158 kg's= 348 Lb's outta the box it might be a MotoAmerica twins-cup beater, if it fall's under the rules!
